Description Continuing from Part 1 (please see that first)

By this point I trust we're all familiar with Pokemon Go, and a few of you are probably just as sick of hearing about it as I am. I understand people get excited and passionate about things they love and I support that. Yet when for a month straight I've been seeing topics, posts, images, articles and even a criminal using it for  a cheap plug.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwaiyj…

It begins to get a bit on my nerves. If you love the game, keep on playing but grant me this little rant to vent some steam please.

Phone app crazes are not exactly a new thing. When you consider Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, Candy Crush and Flappy Bird were once also the talk of the town with social media. Yet attach an ageing and easily marketable series by today's standards to the concept, and you suddenly "become more popular than pornography" according to some deluded people. I think given the choice between waxing my carrot to Nikki Benz and Harmony Bliss, or walking around a public place, barging into establishments to catch a fictional creature to gain social media brownie points... I'll take the porno over phone apps thank you very much.

Yet having this opinion seems to bring about a level of hostility most common amongst social activists. A lot of aggressive shouting, resentment, hate speech and being called a Trump Supporter. I really think Donald Trump should replace Adolf Hitler in the increasingly irrelevant Godwin's Law argument, since that mother fucker is blamed for everything from the crusades to your toast landing butter side down.

But let's keep things fair. Pokemon Go has some really stupid detractors. I'm not talking about those who are either have no interest in it or feeling mift at the over hyping of it. I'm talking about the usual suspects coming out of the woodwork and using it for cheap publicity. Such as BlackLivesMatter kicking up a fuss and calling the game "racist" as they do with everything. Because Arceus forbid we focus on something that isn't about supposed racism for three fucking seconds! As well as The Young Turks continuing to prove they have no fucking clue what they're talking about.

Cenk: Right?

Or perhaps the old school Pokemon Fans who honestly believe that these kids cannot play Go and that it's made for them. It's like the bizarro world scenario of the Ghostbusters Movie, in that the fan base hasn't actually got a point and is full of shit. I don't have enough room in this rant to cover all the religious fanatics (from Bible Thumpers to Suicide Bombers) making up their own BS surrounding a children's game. And people say I'm being unreasonable?

Yes, I fully agree with you that those who are "big old meanies trying to spoil your fun!" are complete killjoys with comments such as "you should get a life!" (that old chestnut) and they should be mocked. Yet when I hear people tell me "you should stop making assumptions about us!" I find it very telling when their retort is to call those who appose them "Old, religious, Trump supporting football fans!" No that's not how it works, you cannot have your cake and eat it.

Not liking a over hyped phone app with more issues that Spider-Man has nothing to do with liking Football, being religious or supporting a man you may end up eating alot of crow IF he becomes President. In fact, let me count the factors into why I alone (not speaking for you) do not like this App.

#1 - I hate Mobile Phone Culture.
A large section of my utter disdain for Pokemon Go is rooted in my reasonable hatred for Mobile/Cell Phones and the cliched argument people spew at me when they tell me I CANNOT live my life without a phone. I love this single argument they thrown at me.

"WHAT IF YOU GET LOST IN THE WOODS?"

1: I am very skilled at exploring the outside world and have ventured into alot of forest terrain and have successfully navigated my way out. No GPS required.

2: It is impossible to get "lost" in the woods. Walk in a single direction for long enough and you reach the other side.

3: Considering I'm a country boy (fuck you and your inner cities) I'm more likely to run into a Cow jerking off in a Horses mouth that running into a wood I have yet to explore. If that happens I refer you to point 2.

4: Desist with your shitty arguments before I am forced to install your phone into your gaping asshole!

When I'm talking to people at dinner or at a Cafe, and they have there face buried into their phones. I find that highly rude and would like them to stop that. So adding into the fact I regard Mobile Phone Culture in the same camp as pedophiles and terrorists, you can see how a phone app is the last thing I want to try out.

#2 - Praise for achieving nothing.
Telling me "it's getting us outside and excising" isn't really an argument. When you're supposed to do that anyway. Good on Nintendo for getting people off their arses and daresay... OUTSIDE!!! But it's kind of funny when people didn't want to do this for years when their parents or schools wanted them to, but only do it now because of Pokemon! But I don't need a Phone or a Phone App to achieve those things when I already do that every week. It's called "going to work!"

#3 It's a fad. Stop denying it.
Gangnam Style.
Ice Bucket Challenge.
Harlam Shake.
Watch me whip.
Batmaning.
Luigi's Death Stare.
Get Down.
Slender.
FNAF.
Undertale.
Minecraft.
Dat Boy.
Expand Dong.

Shall I go on?

At the end of the day, nothing you or I can say can argue that this thing is successful (until the recent stock drop) and people seem to be happy with it. My main issue is my comments were lumped in with the preachy kill joys no doubt working on a Fantasy Football League (I seriously have no idea what that is) and felt like voicing my disdain about it. I got tired of seeing it plastered everywhere I go. Before you say it, if it was something I liked I'd STILL be sick of seeing it everywhere. For example I got tired of the over hyping that happened with FNAF and Undertale. Throw in people getting hurt or behaving like man babies about it and you have the recipe for a truly irritating trending topic.

I've pointed this out before, I don't hate Pokemon, but for my experiences the series hasn't been exciting since Platinum or been socially relevant since Halo 1. I plan on spending December with Sun/Moon and Pokemon Go isn't going to change that, it'll just mean having to avoid alot of shit on Facebook and YouTube for awhile.

But the app is selling like a cure for aids and the new game is winning it's core audience over. Mind you they could just draw a Pikachu onto a bag and people would still eat it u....

www.kotaku.com.au/2016/07/the-…

..... I rest my case.

Do Marvel plan on having any white men in their comics?

Spider-Man's a black Latino.
Captain America is black.
Thor is a woman.
Hulk is Asian.
Wolverine is now X-23.
Ms.Marvel's a Muslim.
And Nova is a Latino.

Now you can argue some of those are good and have had a positive impact sure. Yet the news that Iron "Man" is now a 15 year old black girl called Riri Williams has left alot of us scratching our heads. Iron "Man" is a confusing title for a girl to have. It was questionable with Thor (which is a NAME not a title) but this is even worse. You'll recall with my Ms.Marvel reactions I stated that "the story is more important than the character" and I firmly hold to that belief. Yet with Marvel it's more about the characters gender or who they fuck at night than the story. I'm not too bothered by Iron Man taking a leave of absence and a friend comes in for this an idea done before. Further proving Marvel haven't had an original thought since the Reagan years.

A big problem I have with Marvel lately is that it's no longer about stories or character growth. It's now about headlines. Headlines to gain attention and potential new readers. Yet if the comic sales numbers are any indication, then people simply Aren't taking the bait. If Riri ends up being a new partner or friend to Tony then I don't have a problem with that. My issue stems from new characters who haven't earned the right suddenly are THE established character. A little thing I call "The Rodimus Prime Effect!"

We'll find out if she's any good or not, so stay tuned for possible further comment.

While the other part of the news is that Doctor Doom is also.... Iron Man?

Okay now I'm confused.

I've always said Doctor Doom should be an Iron Man villain or involved in his comic series, but this isn't what I had in mind. So we have a 15 year old girl as Iron "Man" and now Victor Von Doom as Iron Man. You see why I'm confused? I'm not entirely sure what Marvel are trying to do these days. I might immigrate over to DC Comics with all my other friends or look into that Batman/TMNT series. Marvel has gone the way of MTV. Self obsessed liberals who want to pander to minorities by way of telling you white people and Donald Trump are evil. Gimmicky decisions and clickbait reveals that people are not falling for anymore.

I await to hear the news that Venom's new host is a transgender, bisexual, Irish Muslim boy called Hillary.

Next.

InfoWars Vs The Young Turks.
A group of misinformed, unreasonable halfwits who sit in the echo chamber of a delusional manbaby.... And the other is run by Alex Jones.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-HP8y…

I gotta admit, watching these clowns going at it was fucking priceless. I used to be a fan of The Young Turks back around 2012. Yet when they transformed into "Liberal Fox News" with front man Cenk Uygur creating an echo chamber for himself with giggly sidekick Ana Kasparian peddling his shite I couldn't stomach it anymore. I may have stopped watching but they obviously have alot of fans, even if that number is shrinking as time goes by. I never bothered to comment on their BS but I said to myself "wouldn't it be great if somebody took a massive shit in their echo chamber?"

Well I guess paranoid madman and amusing psychopath Alex Jones has become something of a champion to those tired of TYT's bullshit. Just so we're clear, I regard Alex Jones as a long lost member of the Looney Tunes. A humanoid cartoon and is very entertaining to watch. I don't agree with his views or policies but by God is he an entertaining mother fucker. Apart from some of Paul Joesph Watson's vids, I regard InfoWars as a work of satire. Nothing they say has fact and should be dismissed but by extension I hold the same views of The Young Turks so I'm don't really have a side in all this. I just like laughing at clowns pretending to be journalists.

So Jones busts onto the set and it seems all is peaceful. He's giving some jokey comments and they appear to be above it all. Humoring him and going about business as normal. You know something that the Left appears to be.

Progressive and Mature.

Yet it gets pretty heated when another right wing pundit Roger Stone jumps into the fray. Suddenly Cenk goes from "progressive and mature" to "angry, shouty and childish!"

Watching TYT yelling at Alex Jones while becoming subject to the very things they report about, is like watching a Social Justice Warrior being a sexist bigot. An amusing irony car crash that you cannot stop watching. I could not stop laughing as the Left and Right finally came together and nobody could tell them apart. Shouty, delusional bullshit artists with little to no difference between them. Even Ana through out some "fat shamming comments" at Jones by calling him a fat fuck. Making them no better than the people they proclaim are wrong and immoral. Which is doubly delicious when Ana has gone on record to say fat shamming is wrong, yet here she is calling someone a fat fuck.

The Young Pots and Kettles.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0k3-X…

It's also very strange to see Jones calm and smiling while TYT are screaming and swearing.... You know, like how I normally picture Alex Jones. So like any bland corporate product, they tried to damage control the situation and slander "the bad guy" yet the footage of the event is against them. They were name calling, childish, spitting and behaving like... Again, like Alex Jones. The damage was done and the Sharks smelled the blood.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSBenf…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPpt7-…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=spMiXk…

It doesn't excuse Jones in the slightest don't get me wrong. He did act completely unprofessional and security should have immediately escorted him off. However, that doesn't excuse Cenk and TYT for their behavior. They could have just sat there, waited for security to do their job and carried on, but no. Jimmy Door chimed in with spitting in the mans face like a fucking child, making any thing Alex did wrong minor or irrelevant in comparison. A degree of professionalism is needed and that goes out the window when you're spitting in a mans face like a child.

Also another problem is that this wasn't a private set. It was an open conference with the major Internet news networks. Anybody could have jumped on stage, shouted "Fuck her right in the pussy!" and bolted.

Now I have an image of Alex Jones screaming "Fuck her right in the pussy" at Ana and I'm laughing all over again.

I tell you what, 2016 hasn't dissapointed so far. Sure far too many celebrity deaths (didn't hear too many this month) but the amount of failures, set backs and outright karma being dished out to those in need of it has been nothing short of priceless.

Which brings me at last to the main topic of the month for many of us aging Nerds.

The aftermath of Ghostbusters 2016.

"The Meh Heard Around the World ... well, except for China."

I'm not going to waste too much time on this surprisingly. Because, really what is left to say on this subject? Most of what I said here will take care of the bulk of this rant.
randomdc3.deviantart.com/art/7…

I haven't seen an aftermath this entertaining since Brexit and Mighty No 9's abysmal launch. 2016 sure is the gift that keeps on giving. So the outcome we all predicted came true and Ghostbusters 2016 was a complete and utter financial bomb at the box office. While I await the 28 Midnight's Edge videos to come of this result, I can offer some closing thoughts to finally close the book on this whole mess.

A movie that is essentially an hour and fifty seven minute version of this.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=icOM7E…

A movie that was filled to the brim with needless product placement, unfunny jokes, cringe worthy cameos and was a complete an utter farce. The fact it opened to empty cinemas being the funniest thing about this comedy. Last time I checked, the movie failed to make back it's budget. Making those claims of "a sequel in the works" utterly fruitless and laughable now.

It's not all good news, for what happened with Lesley Jones was NOT called for. These people do realize that resorting to racist tweets, you're playing right into Sony's hands and proving them right? It was utterly disgusting and should not have happened. Also confusing was the banning of conservative blogger Milo Yiannopoulos when you consider what he said, versus what was said BEFORE and AFTER he made his comments didn't warrant a life time ban.

As I said in the comic, Twitter's own hypocrisy could fill an entire page and rant on it's own.

How Sony can even attempt to claim this was a success shows you how delusional and desperate they've become in recent years. I think the movie was doomed right from the start. I'll never understand why Hollywood remakes movies that are good, when they should remake movies that are bad. For me, the whole point of a reboot is to correct mistakes or to start over. WHY would you want to start over something that was good and highly successful? I mean look at Star Wars for a second. They knew people would be furious if they went back and rebooted that story, so they decided to continue events, honor the past while setting foundations for the future.

I still feel Star Wars should have been left alone, but the end result wasn't as bad as I had feared. Speaking of Star Wars, I'll close on this open message to the following imbecilic buffoons.

Sony. Amy Pascal and Paul Fieg.

This, is Rey.

vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/&…

She is the star of the recent Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens. It was announced that Star Wars would now have a female lead character.

The Force Awakens went on to gross A SHIT TON OF MONEY and is beloved by the Star Wars community. Would you like to know how they achieved this?

My own personal views of her to one side, they didn't beat the audience over the head with her vagina or paint any other character to be inferior to her because of said vagina. They didn't belittle the audience and fan base with "a message" or put out a cringe worthy trailer. They trusted the audience would accept her and respected the franchise AND it's core audience.

It's a simple concept when you think about it. But you cocked it up spectacularly and you have no one to blame but yourselves.

I await the news of Amy Pascall's termination.

But that brings to an end my thoughts on Ghostbusters 2016 and hopefully, the last we'll ever hear about it.

there is an animated ghostbusters movie in the works directed by the guy who did clash of clans promos and written by dan aykroyd, would be funny if this one made more money on the big screen.  lets hope this would be at least decent and tell feig this is how you make ghostbusters.

I'm actually cheering for this movie to be enough of a financial success to not be a box office bomb.  The reason why is because if it does gain the status of box office bomb, the failure will be blamed on misogyny and it will discourage both Sony and other movie studios from making more female driven movies that aren't romances.

ShaneySqueeBoy [2016-08-01 09:09:02 +0000 UTC]

Umm, the Nostalgia Critic is NOT one of those paid critics. I don't know whether or not you're just using him as another critic face, but Doug Walker himself actually said, in his own honest words, that the film does have some enjoyable aspects to it, but it still isn't a good movie entirely. He does like it better than Ghostbusters 2, but the original '84 Ghostbusters is still timeless; "lightning in a bottle", as Doug himself said it was.

I'm still wary about seeing this movie for myself. It's gotten the most mixed reviews I've ever seen in my entire life, and I have no idea what to make of it until I see it for myself... but I'm still afraid to. I did watch the leaked post-credits scene, just in case the movie sucked and I didn't want to stick around for anything, but needless to say, it was pretty fucking cringeworthy. Worst Zuul namedrop EVER. *sigh* ... Oh well, at least Ecto-Cooler is back! Can't wait to try some for my birthday!

Oh, and I read your little rant about Marvel... You're wise to choose the correct side, my friend. #DCmasterrace

Let me explain why I placed him there.

I do acknowledge he isn't a paid critic, you are indeed correct. The reason I did place him there was due to the opening of that review with his brother. It felt really patronizing that they dismissed valid criticisms of the movie and tried to make a straw man of the situation.

"Oh does this ruin your childhood, here is a stupid straw man argument to say it isn't!"

To say that everyone who complained about the movie was "it ruined their childhood" is like saying "Everyone who complains about Europe is a Donald Trump supporter!" The general consensuses about the movie was it didn't need to be made. The concept of remaking movies that are good will always baffle me, when the concept of a reboot would to correct mistakes, not perfection.

Yet I felt he and his brother undermined those critics by painting them all with the same brush.

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to RandomDC3 [2016-08-01 10:56:50 +0000 UTC]

Okay, that's actually a pretty good point. In all fairness, Doug is pretty infamous for relying on straw man arguments, regardless of whether they're good or bad ones. His worst one by FAR has to be Zack Snyder in his beyond-atrocious Batman v Superman review. It could have been a great review if he got anything right about the movie, but the sketches in the review do nothing but illustrate his own bias and ignorance regarding the film. It's especially disappointing as a follow-up to his Man of Steel review, which is actually one of my favorite Nostalgia Critic reviews of all time, particularly because it's a very strong comparison of two entirely different arguments, and yet it still comes to a perfect middle point that acknowledges the heart and soul of the movie as it is overall. It never required a change of his own opinion, but it was an epiphany that helped him at least understand why people like Angry Joe (and myself) love it so much. That, and the jokes and sketches in the Man of Steel review are some of his best yet. The BvS review is literally the polar opposite...

I do not hate Doug Walker. He is a talented man worthy of the respect he has.

Yet I feel he says things like what he and his brother did in that review, and people give him a free pass because he's the Nostalgia Critic.

You cannot be an unbiased and partial critic if you label everyone who apposes you in that manner. I expect that behavior from Bob Chipman in all honesty.

ShaneySqueeBoy In reply to RandomDC3 [2016-08-01 22:37:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I never once implied that you may hate him! o.o I have every bit of respect for him just the same! Though as you can see, I'm still critical of his faults every now and again... just not to the extent of Douchey McNitpick, if you catch my drift.

I'm not exactly sure I follow on what Doug and Rob said or did specifically in their Sibling Rivalry review of Ghostbusters 2016. I didn't see the entire thing, as those particular videos have gotten so long that I only tune in occasionally. Mind clarifying for me a bit, if that's okay?

RandomDC3 In reply to ShaneySqueeBoy [2016-08-02 09:24:40 +0000 UTC]

The opening seconds of their sibling review, they scream "DON'T KILL US!!" implying that people will murder them over an opinion of this movie.

Then they make a joke about their mom being "a raging misogynist" for not liking the movie. I get that they're mocking the politics surrounding this movie but it wasn't that funny. Then around the 3 minute mark we get the never ending strawman argument.

"You all look like a bunch of fucking idiots!"
Rob Walker.

Well, in all fairness, there ARE quite a few extremists who would do exactly that. They're not generalizing. Plus, it's just a joke, you clearly saw them giggling in the midst of their playful wailing. If you don't find it funny, that's totally understandable, and yes, as I said before, the Walkers are infamous for their usage of strawman arguments (still looking at you, BvS review...), but all in all, it's still pretty harmless.

Not a fan of the skits, I see? X3 To each their own. I'm fine with the skits depending on their comedic outcome. While they came off as a bit pretentious and biased in reviews like Jurassic World, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and especially Batman v Superman, the skits in reviews like Mad Max: Fury Road, Pixels, and now Ghostbusters 2016, are very clever and hilarious! ^^

As I’ve said on July 22nd, I personally didn’t think this movie was an irredeemable piece of shit like some people on the web are saying it is. Don’t get me wrong, it’ll never hold a candle to the original film. But I’ve seen faaaar worse movies and reboots than this one.

And again, I’m NOT some white knight defending this film & saying it’s brilliant. Nor am I some nostalgically blind hater who is incapable of accepting change. I’m just a fan of this franchise who remained neutral throughout the controversy and wanted this movie to do one simple thing...

To entertain me. And for the most part, it did just that. I plan on reviewing it in October, for I have BOTH good & bad things to say about it.

I hope you’re not angry at me. I’m just expressing my 2 pence on the subject.

I still watch TYT from time to time, but I don't watch them as much as I did years ago. Never really knew why, but I guess you may have got it with them essentially becoming a left-wing Fox News. I will say I still agree with them more than a lot of other media in the US, but I've found myself now more trusting independent sources altogether who aren't really on any side. Honestly, even though I'm American, I probably get most news from other countries own news sources, such as RT, or from Anonymous. Say what you will about the group, but Anonymous doesn't have any agenda, and serves no country or government, so I find myself going to them quite a bit for news. But, that's just me.

Also, I have no intention of watching the Ghostbusters film any time soon because nothing about it interests me, and I think I've mentioned before in other comments that the Rotten Tomatoes score, what audiences say, etc. never influence my decision to try something so long as I have any kind of interest in it. And nothing about it makes me want to see it.

Marvel.....oh dear lord...they are not fixing the main core issue of the comic book world...they should concentrate more about making either new characters or respect legacy, isntead of plot twists and changes i admit neither do i care nor like enough to give a crap. IF it wasn't for Disney im...im even feeling that they can't go arround confident because they are not going to be so safe if they fail. Honestly is the MCU and maybe Cartoons what i give a crap, but i can't defend them all the time when they screw up.

I tought they learnt their lesson from previous failures but they weren't, i tought they learnt from their bad times in the nineties and that crap from ONe more day but they didn't. I say it again, if they keep going like this, Disney will just not spare them

The ghostbusters movie....it was to be expected...the priority should had been making a good film but everythign that went on from trailer to backlash spelled failure. But the ghost banning in CHina that ....i heard they had some peculiar laws regarding of movie themes, i have to search about it.

James, it's annoying enough that they're pawning Venom off to people who aren't the one true Venom, Eddie Brock. I don't need you to give them an even stupider idea!

Yeah. They were pissed that The Killing Joke made a killing for its limited box office run too. XD
