Description It was winter on the island of Sodor, a new line was built in the hills, “I believe we will make big with this one” smiled the Fat Controller.

Operation began, supplies was hauled up the mountain, by a rather steep slope.

“Henry” said the Fat Controller, “you are to collect wood from the forest and bring it up the mountain spot” Henry was displeased, “he didn’t like the look of the mountain, especially when there was lots of snow and ice on the top. Henry pleated, “oh please sir, I’m worried about the snow, what if there’s an accident?” The Fat Controller argued, “don’t be a baby Henry, it’s only snow.”

While Henry was being started up, the other engine laughed, “afraid of some snow, Henry?” James puffed. “It’s ok, Henry. You’re still useful, as long as you aren’t scared of the trucks?” Thomas teased.

Henry became cross, “I’m not scared!” He chuffed, “I can make it up that mountain and down again, just wait and see.” The others engine looked around with short sight to Henry’s action.

Soon Henry was started, he puffed to the forest. He chanted “I’m not scared, I can make it!” Soon, he got the truck to start chanting, “you’re too scared, you’ll screw it up!” They laughed, but Henry took no notice.

Henry creeped to the start of the slope, while it wasn’t a problem getting up, Henry looked around. He noticed the snow wasn’t sticking, and was falling apart. Henry looked down to his wheels, ice had coated a bit of the tracks, which almost made him slip.

Soon, Henry reached the top. His trucks of logs were uncoupled. “That wasn’t so hard” Henry smiled. Just then, a flake of snow hit Henry’s noes. “It’s snowing…” Henry chuffed, “it so pretty…”

As Henry started his decent down the hill, Edward passed by, he blew his whistle “peep peep, hello!” He hummed. Henry whistled back, but as he did, he heard his whistle bouncing off the mountains, with a rumble and a crumble, snow started to fall from the sides of the peaks.

Henry started to go faster, he looked back and saw a large pile of snow, barreling towards him. Henry started to speed up, but the snow managed to keep up, as it got bigger and bigger!

“Uh oh!” Henry cried, “it’s and avalanche!” Henry puffed and huffed with all he could puff. His smoke billed out of his funnel, his check blushed a bright red, and the engine rushed down the slop as fast as possible!

“We can’t out run it” called the fireman. “Don’t worry” said the driver, “I got an idea!”

Henry’s driver purred at the tracks, he then slammed Henry’s breaks has hard as he could. “What are you doing?” Asked the fireman.

Henry started to slip and slide, very fast. The ice was helping him slide down the mountain. “Brilliant!” Gasped the Fireman.

Finally, after Henry reached the bottom, the driver took back control. Henry was soon able to stop. The driver got out to warn the signal man of what had happened. “Was there anyone still on the mountain when you left?” He asked. “EDWARD!” Henry gasped, “oh no!”

The signal man soon shut the line down, “I’ll call for help” the signal man informed, “we must save Edward!”
