Description
This was a piece that I finished a while back but then I thought it needed something more than just these two pieces on a wood base. So I sculpted a base so I could raise the knight up to the eye level of the dragon. I threw in some burn marks and a charred tree for good measure. I like it a lot more now. Sorry for the poor picture but I didn't have time to set it up for a more professional picture. Will try to do that soon.

Still think this is wonderful, especially as the dragon's expression makes him look slightly apologetic, yet humoured (as though what happened was he simply burped and the knight got in the way).

It's funny because when I first placed the finished bronze pieces on the wood base it really underwhelmed me.
It needed that little something more, so it was worth the extra time and money to make a small landscape that
brought the knight up to the dragons eye level...plus the burnt tree added a small bit of humor too.
It's weird how the little touches can change a story for the better.

Ah, a very nice touch. It's a great addition to setting it off to look like a customized, one off piece. Now that you've gotten that far, I think all it needs now is some kind of brass plate fastened onto it and engraved with something fitting to the title & artist, etc. I love the dragon's expression and if animated, I can almost see the knight quaking in his armor, knees knocking, and a residual blurt puff of smoke coming from the beast's nostrils with a hiccup or burp of course.

That's so funny, when I was taking this, Louie stepped in just after I shot the pic.
Between that and the never ending dust bunnies, it's hard to get a semi-professional shot.

I know this is ten days late, (really busy here) so heres a belated LOL 
lil munchkin one time came inside, and jumped right up on the backdrop and left a nice little trail of pawprints all over it. im wishing now I had not deleted the picture from my camera.
