what's the story here , seems pretty interesting, this depicts exactly one of my greatest fears ever, being underwater near a gigantic creature that could actually eat me and there is nothing left to be done other than just resigning yourself to a very painfull and desperate death while you watch it all

What were your feelings going into painting this? It comes off as a much more intimate, even romantic take on the old pulp novel covers. I feel there's a story behind this.
I say once, the best kind of fantasy art makes me wonder about the world outside of the contents of the painting. and this, this definitely accomplishes that.
