Please download for full size image~Hiya guys, just another warm up image. Getting back into Photoshop and fighting with my laptop.
First off, most of the items in this are placeholders, for example the tree's are a brush provided by a Deviant here on DA and are sitting in place of the tree's I intend to add later. The fox was heavily, heavily referenced and will be re-drawn later.
But anyway, just another WoW piece because I love my Thor-thor. I still suck hard at colour theory and backgrounds but I'll just pretend its not there! xD
From left to right is Nivran who is ~CharunothII 's Night Elf Warrior, Eithriel who is ~Glenrai 's Night Elf Mage and Thoruik who is my Night Elf Hunter. Or thats who they -will- be once Niv and Eith actually have -faces- haha!
The fox is Erebos who is Thoruik's main pet. I know, I know the fox isnt the best pet but that boy has saved my arse so many times he just has to run with me! Smashing my 'Pet Attack' macro squealing 'Erebos HELP! AHHH! HORDE!'. I love him!
Something's missing from this image and I cant put my finger on it, this always happens to me |D I was thinking about having Deathwing in the background doing his thing but then it would rather much look like they're were running by with blinkers on minding their own business which wouldnt be very good.
Anyway, any suggestions are welcome and thankyou for taking the time to look! A huge thankyou to =Azaeil for her critiques and input also!

Beautiful work! I really like the feel and theme, and the cats are some of the very few representations of the Sabre riding cats that I find believeable AND savage. Too many end up looking floofy. <.<

I see the Swift Frostsaber, Swift Stormsaber, and Swift Mistsaber
I can't wait to see the finished product, because this, without a doubt, is the best portrayal of Night Elves riding their mounts that i have EVER seen.
Anatomically and proportionately accurate for both the Elves and their mounts.
It looks like their heading from Southern Ashenvale and into the Barrens??

i recon you should put blood splatter around the nightsabers mouthes, becuase in real life i believe the predator mounts would also do some killing

The only thing I might add to balence it out a little is a stream of dust/smokey/ness from the left towards the right, really narrow then blooming out a bit in the right corner, to give the impression that there is something going on ahead of them that they're running towards.
But otherwise I really like this, the muscles and sense of movement, it's all wonderfull.

Also there should be something in the sies, cuz theres ALWAYS something in the sky lol I'm going to be doing something like this except, my mount is a Drake of the West wind.

watch out for nasty tangents! (foxs tail and "lions" leg)
If you want more speed then let no paw touch the ground. May I suggest that you do so with the fox because right now it has almost the exact same pose as the "lion" closest to the camera.

Not sure if this has been suggested yet but i think they would look really cool if the tree line was up farther and took up more of the picture. It might seem like they were rushing to defend their home.
I too live these mounts and wish they looked more like you drew them, they seam to really have the grace and power large cats have.

Night Elf.
This is just amazing. When I first saw the thumbnail the first thought that came to mine was the War of the Shifting Sands, the war of the Kaldorei against the Silithid. Can't wait to see this finished.

OMG OMG OMG! I CANT WAIT FOR YOU TO FINISH THIS! And .. that's a Swift Moonsaber, a Swift Mistsaber, and .. by first glance the middle one is a Black War Tiger but it could also be a Swift Stormsaber! And then there's one of the Cata hunter pets, a fox.. But which one! Either the "white one" (pale blue, red eyer) or it's my favourite, the blue/grey one with blue fur and green eyes!

Maybe add more space before them with a horde scout trying to outrun the 3 heroes?

Would love to see this when it is completed. Try adding a bit to the left to see what the does. I agree; it does seem a bit open in the background between those mountains. Finish it completely and then see if it still looks too open. Maybe then you can see what you could add
Almost doesn't make sense to do it that way, but it may not look so "bad" once it's completely finished. Never know.

This is AWESOME. I love the the foliage, the lighting, and the form of the creatures. At the moment the main problem I have in reading it visually is the frontmost forepaw of the sabertooth in the front is about the same shade as the armor piece behind it, so it's hard to differentiate at a glance. I'm sure with the final lighting and details it will stand out more, since that part of the midground guy is in shadow, and the paw of the foreground one is in the light, but just watch out for that.
Oh, that, and the angle and perspective of it leads the viewer's eye right off the page... the line of cats, with the mountain, is basically a giant arrow pointing off the page. I recommend adding a bit more space to the left, with something to lead the viewer's eye back to the right where all that lovely detail is.

I dunno, the colors look pretty good to me. D: I googled some 'sunrise' pictures and all I can really suggest is adding some more red/oranges and purples to the sky (but not too much, it looks nice with the pale yellow as is). I love the colors you chose for the mounts, they definitely fit the atmosphere. HOW DID YOU DO IT? D':
