Saw the part you drew, and you captured his emotions perfectly. He's one of my fav characters because he, oddly enough, is one of the most "human" characters in the game (other ones are Joker and Tali, ME1 bias aside). His face shows how emotionally battered and broken he really is. Shepard (especially the female one) sets him straight and keeps him fighting the good fight.

I totally agree that Garrus feels more 'human' than a lot of the new squad members... the characters who stay with Shepard from ME1 have a whole other game's worth of additional depth. I kind of had trouble getting over that... my Adept Shep just dragged Tali and Garrus with her pretty much everywhere except loyalty missions. ^^

Thank you! He's one of my favorite, too - I love the ME2 crew, don't get me wrong, but Shepard has so much more history with Garrus and Tali (and Joker and Chakwas, too), it makes the relationships a lot more nuanced and deep.

I hated what happened to him at first, then I realized...it just makes him more of a badass!!!!
I still need to continue my fem shepard profile, so far I've been focusing on my main male shepard that I'm going to be continuing into ME3. I need to see this eventually...

Yeah... the first time through, I flailed and screamed a little during his recruitment mission.
I have trouble playing male Sheps, actually, because Hale does such a good job delivering fem Shep's lines - good luck on your second playthrough, though!

Yeah the Male shep's voice actor does good sometimes but at others...he's a little too calm and collected to make it convincing. But I still love him, he's still a badass xP
I have a problem starting games over, I started my main file over on insanity and I just got the Reaper IFF and I'm about to go through the omega 4 relay. Once I get started I love it but...until then its kinda like "ugh...i have to go through this again..."

I beat the game twice xP
I just beat it on insanity...I had the Revenant machine gun, and surprisingly enough I find the Avenger the best assault rifle in the game. It has decent ammo, when you upgrade your assault rifles it becomes really accurate and really powerful, and its the best looking AR in the game I think. Before I got the Reaper IFF I got all my squad mates, all upgrades for the Normandy, I got all loyalty and I ugraded the weapons and armor the best I could. xP.
So, unlike my first play through, I saved the Normandy crew and, like my first play through, I blew up that damn collector base. I can't bring myself to keep it! It probably has to do with the fact that THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DIED IN THE MOST BRUTAL WAY POSSIBLE! But for my renegade shepard I'm going to do everything in my power to give the Reapers a fight. Meaning I convince the quarians not to go to war, rewire the geth (which I did on my insanity playthrough), and etc...etc...etc...

I've seen the break-up stuff, 'cause I would never do it and was curious, and it wasn't too bad. His shoulders slump a bit and then tells her that he's still there for her. omg garr-bear, you are so cute.

I know this is old, but since ME3 is coming: I saw when you reject Garrus... He is sad in his own way. You forget he is very good at hiding his feelings in most cases--except rage. He becomes very distant in the second game...he didn't want to make you feel bad either.
Garrus is that one character that has had a rough life and has seen the worst happen to him...as Kelly would say "I just want to hold him and tell him everything will be okay...,"
Plus this character reminds me painfully of my own boyfriend...makes me cry when I'm moody.

I didn't watch it for a long time because I suspected it would make me sad - I'm pretty sure I still hadn't seen it when I posted the above comment. I have seen it since, and I absolutely agree that he was just trying to save face and not burden Shepard.
I can't wait to see where the relationship goes in ME3!

I wonder where it will go as well... I only romanced Garrus. I never was interest in Kaiden or Liara... Part of me hopes there will be more to the romance. Garrus is protected by a hard shell, and you seem to crack it quite a bit in his romance. But unlike Thane or Jacob, he does not confess love.
Love is a strong word, so I'd expect he'd be afriad of it like any other person who is trying to keep from being hurt by the world.
I'm very curious indeed.

Hey there. I said I would fave your work and now here I am.
I like how the style is done in soft muted colours as that helps to convey not only the feeling of the picture but what is being felt in that moment. Garrus' eyes look almost thankful in a way. That he is enjoying the commanders touch. And relaxed. Like it was something that he thought he had lost and yet it has come home to him. And I also see a small amount of affection as well. For the touch and for the person in front of him. It's like all his doubts and troubles have been soothed from that one touch.
Well thats what I see anyways. Hare comes a fave.
