I've been trying to revamp this character of mine and was doing a full length study. But I still have a lot to finish. I got to work on it over CHristmas but I haven't had much time for my own stuff in awhile. This has been in progress for probably 5 or 6 months. XDDD So I just thought I'd throw part of it up here in case it never gets done. I chose the shirt because it's one I have and one that Tatsurou wore that I love so...yeah. XD Not based on anyone actually, just pulled out of my head. I'm still deciding on what to rename him. I want it kind of unisex. Leaning toward Sasha but not sure.Same character as here: I had a lot of trouble getting his nose similar. XDDD

He's really nice. You did a great job on his face and expression - he's so alive. Love it already and I can't even imagine the awesomeness it will radiate once it's "finished".
Sasha isn't bad, btw. I always say, whatever you feel in your gut - usually it's the first name you get (or second) and it sticks.

I'm stuck on the background because for some reason I made one of his arms raised, like he was going to be leaning on something without determining what he'd actually be leaning on and then it just kind of...didn't work, but it's so much work to correct. ugh. lol.
Well I invented him in my middle school days, which was like...sixteen years ago and way back then I was a huge fan of the band Bush, so I had named him Gavin after the lead singer and back then he was SpanishxBritish mix. I don't even know. He's like the angel of death...or death...but he's like a total charming asshole type. I decided the background I had for him wasn't working at all and that I didn't like the name anymore. It's so british and he's not anymore. So...I don't know I wanted something kind of feminine for his name. He's completely pan sexual. He'll sleep with anyone, so I wanted a name that kind of defied gender bias. But I'm still deciding if that's the right one. I'm SO picky about names.

Hmm, I am not sure what else might work then... there are many names but so many, unfortunately do have stigmas with affiliation to gender.

Yup pretty much. I usually like the nerdy good guys but for him I wanted him to be like a selfish, vain dick. Because he's not human and he doesn't care about them and he'd kill anyone without so much as a thought. For some reason I love murderous characters. But he's also super charismatic. Way back when I was planning my comic the girl I painted in "adrenaline", the blonde, she was his sort of "love interest" only not because they didn't actually love each other. Complicated. But I've always liked his character.

Ahh, I see - he definitely has a history then and an interesting one I bet.
When David first came along, I didn't like him much either - he ended up holding a gun to one of my other character's heads and threatened to kill him and his girlfriend ... it was rough tides, but then things got better and now I like him a lot. There's more to him than meets the eye and it's characters like that who really make an impact on us creators, I think! They can be as evil and bad as they want, but if they have a good backstory - we love them!
