Commission I'm working on. I just liked the way it was going for some reason. Took me forever to get the angle and I'm still not sure if it's right. I don't usually paint with the skintone background, I was just lazy and didn't feel like blocking him in. XDD Might have been a bad idea...>_>Related content

For some reason, the pink backround suits him *cough* Hopefully turning it into the final backround won't be too much of a problem.

Can't stop staring. The pose's perfect, angle doesn't look any weird either.
He looks so soft - one of the things I like best in your works, the natural roundness and anatomy of the people portrayed. Never been a fan of sharp profiles. Most realism artists seem to put effort and time into emphasizing muscles and bone structure, whereas your characters look cuddly, while they still never lack the shape.

I'm glad the pose looks good. I spent an hour or so just moving him around with the transform tool. At first I had him standing way too stiffly so I tried to make him slouch a bit more. You know, it's funny that you said that. I purposely don't use alot of sharpness in muscle definition because I don't particularly like the way it looks. Besides that most of the people I draw don't have perfectly defined abs and muscles. I love it when people look soft and relatable rather than hard and chiseled. I especially like doing Kaoru's body because he's not very defined at all, his chest is a little saggier and he has a little extra weight on his obliques, but he's still thin. It makes for a very nice figure once everything is said and done.

I adore Kaoru's body for that exact reason. He's definitely thin, but he has shape despite that, he looks "normal" and healthy in that way. Then again, I guess it's harder for him to stay "fit enough" since his physique is like that, unlike for someone like Die, who never seems to gain any weight and is very lightly built.
Seems our ideal is pretty close at that, hm. I don't like the looks of clearly showing muscles either.
The pose now looks relaxed and not stiff at all, so you used the hour well.

I agree. Personally I find flaws to be sexier than perfection, and with the exception of Kyo and a handful of others I'm usually not that into amazingly defined bodies. I like a little squish and a lot of curve. I mean...I adore Tatsurou but hugging him was like hugging bones, not at all sexy when you think about it. I like a toned body as well as the next girl but in the end I think I'd prefer a bit of realism since I, myself, am not exactly in peak condition either. lol
I'm glad it looks good. I know this one will be great when it's done.

Perfection is boring and fake. It's the little flaws that make a person an individual, right? I love Kyo best when he's been slacking with his abs. His belly is so smooth and pretty when his abs aren't there to ruin the flatness - but, he's really beautiful even with them. While I prefer him without, I'm not whining about them either. It's good he bounces between fit and smooth so often, we get to enjoy both. XD
Also yeah, I can't really demand perfect body from anyone as I'm pretty, uh, chibiesque. Small and chubby. + cute points, - respect points.
Not to add to your pressure, but I knew it's going to be great before I saw this - now I'm positive it'll be even better than I imagined. ;_;
If we ever meet, remind me to buy you a cup of... whatever you like to drink.
