Description Look a landscape! Where'd that come from? I pretty much never do just a landscape, so this was fun! Pushing boundaries and hopefully improving along the way. Just a quick(for me) speed painting - and it was fun working with abstract shapes and turning them into something. As another note, I painted this entirely in greyscale which I've not done before.

This does have a practical purpose as well, but more on that later...

Critiques are more than welcome, but bear in mind it's a speed painting.

This is a really nice landscape, especially for just a speed painting! I love the unique shapes you used for the rocks, especially the rocks on the right with all the gaps and holes. I also really like the simple color scheme you used -- it looks very foreboding. Nicely done!

Thank you for the kind and in depth comment! I'm glad the shapes are appealing, I tried to make it look unique and harmonized with the colours

I honestly wish I could do landscapes. ;__;

The color scheme is very warm and tasteful. Very sandy/desert-like with a very wasteland feel to it as well. Great- no AWESOME job on this!

Thanks, landscapes are really easy, the whole thing was just painted intuitively. Just make shapes, detail the shapes, and stuff happens

One time I was asked by my friends to describe the corners of my mind in terms of landscape, it looks alot like this except with swirling red clouds and more mountains in the distance.

So, I feel a connection with this picture, It's really great.

Loooooove this! The shapes and shades look amazing. And this is a speed painting? ;D There is a lot of freedom when it comes to abstract kind of landscapes it seems. Playing with all those shapes and being able to make something out of them. Though rocks are such organic shapes anyways. I always perfered organic shapes over geometric shapes. Hehe. It looks good, Rashka.

Thanks! Yeah it's a speedy, took a couple hours but I had to break to look at a landscape or two along the way haha. I wasn't intently working at it all that time.

I really did love when I finally just zoned out and worked abstractly with what had appeared, instead of actual reference.

Well it turned out great. I love zoning and just getting into the art. It unfolds before you and when you snap back to reality you look down and see you have something really cool. Hehe.

very nice!! Once again, the lighting is really beautiful Yeah, landscapes can be pretty fun when they actually cooperate, instead of just looking like mush no matter where you put the shadows xD Rocks and mountains are my favorites too... oh and trees... trees are nice

Thank you, I just started scribbling based on some concept art I liked, then it took a life of it's own. I love rocks and clouds. Can't say I love trees!... or fur! That usually means I need to paint it more to find out how I like to paint it lol.

Ugh I hate fur too, it's so hard to get it to look right... but I've found that trees can actually be pretty easy and fun to do. I just use a small square brush for the leaves.

I actually just did an entirely new technique on fur that I like...still needs more practice though. I love doing little studies, so easy to just practice on something that doesn't matter.

Trees easy huh? Bah I still hate them! I'm glad you've found something that works
