Description Somewhere on DA I saw a guy who once in a while went back to a favorite photo of his and retouched it according to his current taste and skill. Just to see if he’d make progress since last time. I thought that was a fabulous idea. Funny how a photo is not only a frosen moment in time, its also a frozen example of the style you had in that particular period. Lately I’ve been into muting the colors and light, sort of making the photos appear as visions so dark, you were lucky to catch a glimpse of it before it was swallowed by pitch black eternal night.

Ever since submitting “splash” it’s been the photo I’ve received the friendliest notes/mails about. Since it has never been on the frontpage, all the 163 people who has 'ed it has been hardworking gallery-browsers. So this is a revised ‘deluxe’ version dedicated to this endangered species Those who make an effort to seek out new work and artists instead of just dwelling on their stale watchlists.

You did a very good job at colorizing this. It really is quite beautiful. I was just compairing the old one to the new and trying to decide which I liked most and I niticed that this one didn't quite look right on close inspection. It looks like the film of water in a cresent above her head isn't obscuring the texture of the sky behind her. I'm not sure how easily this could be fixed, but I think that it might be a good tweak. All in all though, quite nice. You preserved the essence of the piece and did a great job at highlighting the arc of the water which is probably my favorite part of the piece. Keep up the good work.

Wow that is difficult to explain my strong feelings for this photo. I have seen to concept before, but I have never seen such a perfect result.

+ The huge water-splash is fantastic
+ Her long beautiful hair og beautiful body
+ Light effects on her hair, the light waterdrops, the dark water and she is allmost a silhouet
+ A light and a bit dirty background

- Can't find anything negative about that, but a large image would be great!

Btw. I know this is an old photo, but it really deserved this all all the other comments. Thanks for sharing it with us...

The first shot I've seen of your work. I admire both the beauty of the woman and her movement, and the technical work on the light and the water. But I still don't understand how you made it. The background, the water... It's not a pool, too much waves, so where comes from the background??

Under the darkness of the moon, the book opened itself, and she took life, bathing far from the glances of those which could not understand her, but me...

How did you replace or change the background without making all of those little drops of water or strands of hair stand out? It's the most increadible thing i've ever seen! I really like all of the versions of this picture. You are very good at expressing the beauty of the original picture. I would love to see more.
