I really like this photograph... very dream like, very pleasant image that is very stimulating to my dreams. I enjoy the love of not knowing exactly what it is so that to me it is what is meaningful to fit the voids within myself. Thank you for the amazing beauty~

Hey Welder my friend! I'm happy you like it, I do too, in an ambivalent kind of way. Some days I hate it and is embarassed I uploaded it, and other days I really like the movement in it. I've been meaning to contact you. I'm so sorry I didnt reply to that note you sent months ago. It was a great and flattering proposal, and I'd love to do it one day, when I have good enough work to exhibit

I think you are being your own worst critic
But that's good...I once read some advice from a photographer who said that he was always afriad and nervous when submitting work anywhere, expecting that at any second someone was going to laugh and riducule him by saying something like "You're not a real photographer!" And that's what kept him pushing himself to make good work. It's once he finally felt like he made it, like he felt certain he was accepted as a "real" photographer, that his work began to slip and that he lost his edge...

just too selfconscientious. Be daring and blunt. I love the character of the elements of fog and mist, they feeling that they portray is so "clearly" representative of life"denn der mensch ist mensch". I cannot obviously tell whether this is actually fog or such, but you caught it either way. Thank you for sharing your talent.

thank you for encouraging me. I might be too selfconscious, but its not pretence. I am/was really in doubt about the quality of this shot.

I would know a teacher that would shoot me for saying this, but there are cases in art when the beauty doesn't appear until that in the eye of the beholder.
Yes, I mean it does have a roughness for the eye trying to find a focal point for it to follow the whole thing, but somehow, even if unintentional, the comfort for the eye is not having to follow anything, even though the picture has clear cuts.
That is why I liked it most and that is why I like the effect of fog.

This does not suck! It's very original, and simple in a way that makes you take a second look. (Like that made any sense.)

I'm waiting for the day you do something that does suck. Then the heavens will collapse, the trumpets will blow, and the baby boomers will agree with Gen X on music. Keep it up, I'm gonna go and sit in my tent of envy.

Of the 200 images I had in my messages, this is the only one I kept around to comment on. It's as close to an impressionistic painting as I've seen in a long while. It made me look, look twice, then look closer. Very nicely done.

Raun guess i hurt you bad, sorry if the comment was to harsh. Weeja is on my case and if he keeps it up he might hurt his brain.
Anyways, in my opinion the photo doesn't make any sense, you can hardly make up any details. Now if you don't agree with me i can accept that. But having that little weasel of weeja giving it to me that PISSES me off.
I ham no great photographer but i know when i see a photo if i like it or not. I am not the abstract kind of guy.
Anyways i looked at your gallery and that one is the only one i can't make anything of. If you are pissed at my comments hope you will have the BALLS to let me know.
Great work i have couple as my

Hi mate. I saw your comment and was not pissed at all. That you think it sucked is perfectly fine with me. I dont agree with your view on photography though. I dont like you telling me what photography should be all about. I think it is what you make of it. And I dont like you saying the only way to like this abstraction is if you are high on drugs. That is a narrowminded (and insulting) perception. Another reason why your comment wasnt too useful for me is you say 'compared to your other work...'. My nightmare is to be always compared to my "other work". I dont want to produce an endless line of similar works. I want my images be varied, and touch people on different levels. In that process, I'm well aware of the risk of producing the occasional piece of crap, and for that reason I appreciate honest critiques like yours.
In short, if you had just stuck to "it sucks" you'd be fine in my book
.

thank you Raun, i appreciate your response, my view on photography is probably due to the fact that i am a newbie and just finished a course on it. The comment about beeing high on drugs was directed to Weeja, i didn't believe he had the right to tell me what he did. As for the comparison with your other work well it's like when you like a singer because of it's style of music and then changes to something different you might not be entised to listen to him because that music is not your style.
I may be narrow minded and not used to talk like you guys do but it seems to me that some of the comments sound like they are sucking up, I know you are a great photographer i've seen and have some as favorites, but honestly abstract i really don't see meaning to it, but you are right this is my vision of things.
Keep up the good work Raun i really enjoy your photos.
Serge

Not really sure what this is. Because it lacks at least a little detail it doesn't work very well for me as a photo. But, looking at it as just and abstract it does have a very nice tone to it and the soft blurred lines create a interesting set of gradients.
