no, it was actually sent to me by joke mail. If you are investigating some sort of RIP issue, I can tell you there is not a single pixel on this photo that I didnt make myself, besides the american flag which is a stockphoto from triberadio.com. Its a political image, and being inspired by a wellknown jokemail (I believe that pose is even found on coffeejars etc. mentioned in the comments somewhere) is not even close to rippage. It's no more a rip than a painting of a photo of George Bush.
For kicks, you should read the heated debate this image caused on photo.net [link] The rip-issue was brought up there too, and the jokemail photo is there too (no mention of the creator though). The comments are pretty much opposite to the majority of comments I've gotten here. I guess the photo.net users are more critical and patriotic than most deviants
Comparing the jokemail photo to this one, I hope you'll agree that mine is more realistic in terms of shading/shadowing.

nawww nothing to do with rip in mind.. just that the joke version was once sent to me but it had no mention of who did it .. I looked through your gallery and can see you do quality stuff .. no negatives from me ..sorry if you took it that way..regarding rips.. I think rippers are liars and thieves if you read my comments on skykings pages ..you will also see I felt very betrayed by what he did.
now as to the subject matter itself .. I personally dont agree with your political view ..but so what..? you have a right to believe what you wish to and to express it artistically in whatever way you choose. as do I.. and I would defend your right to do so..And since I do believe THAT..I will add that i feel that these pieces employing that figure are a bit subjective and unoriginal.. your other work in my opinion is much better .. there.. that's my opinion .

I was just unsure if you were thinking this was a rip. Sticking my neck out in the skyking episode could easily backfire, and this patriotic series is definitely a softspot. Because there are lots of similarities to the original joke photo (especially the hand, which was the most expressive part of the pose and therefor had to be there), so I agree this series is not very original. I never claimed it to be either
As for freedom of beliefs I agree 100% and this is what I believed when the Iraq war started. Lots have happened since then, and things are not as black& white for me anymore.
