Description
Song of the day... [link] Really, I just put on the BF Vietnam soundtrack while doing this. So, any song would be appropriateCanadian Avro CF-205 Thunder Mk.VII with an Australian Northrop Grumman F/A-24D Superdiamondback and a British BAC Wyvern GR.1 flying in formation at sunset. Not sure where... We'll say the Philippines I guess. One of the few places where these guys could fly together without being shot at during the conflict
(sorry India, Pakistan, Malta, South Africa, New Zealand, New Guinea and the rest of the Commonwealth for not including you
Just another attempt at using GIMP to edit photo's. I made a mistake that I only began to notice once I got to the Wyvern, and by then I couldn't justify restarting.

I like the colors my only advise would be to do the lines in a un layer and the colors in anotherone so you dont get those white spots between the line and the colors.

I was trying to write another layer, but the auto-fill of my Ipad is in Spanish and messes with my writing all the time I'm pretty sure you got the point anyway.

Oh, now I get it
Alright, I'll keep that in mind. The only problem is that I don't have a tablet, so it's extremely hard to get crisp lines. So it's a trade with the lines. But it's worth a try.
Thanks

is not so hard if you use the path tool to do the lines and to paint it. I do have a tablet, but I keep using the path tool for most of my designs and for some of the paintings.

Cool, I like it
I think the British jet is the least convincing in terms of design, the Kiwi sort looks like the love child of a Mig29, Eurofighter and F22, while the Canadian just makes me think of hunters and f101 voodoos

Thanks
Well, in defense of the British jet, I didn't want it looking like an A-12 too much. So I ended up with a design that seemed very out there
But other than the Hawker Hunter, you got most of the influences

cool
well its the intakes, while they are from the voodoo that general shape always reminds me of the Hunter. Probably cos its one of my fav aircraft
I think for the British jet, it the (what I assume) or the jet exhausts.
Good job though

Yeah. Triangular intakes make a jet stand out Oh, and if you like the Hunter [link]
Yeah, the Wyvern's a funky jet. I haven't been drawing it nearly as long as the Super D-Back or the Thunder. The Warspite, the other British jet in Red Skies, is a lot nicer looking too. But oh well.

Maybe more F23 in the wing then F22 on the Kiwi

Hmm, did you tweaked the lineart to make it standing out more? Love the sky btw.

Nope... I just lowered the Opacity... or whatever it's called If I'd done it the way I had intended to though... I think the jets would have looked better.
Thanks It's probably the most enjoyable thing to do.

Did you found the layer modes/blending options in Gimp?

Yep
I personally prefer the smudge tool to the blend tool. But I guess you meant both when you said blend :/

Nope, I was talking about the layer options.
You can set the pencil drawing layer in multiply and color right under it.
