History: Damian was born in Gotham City. His father James is an assassin while his mother Rose is a priestess for an ancient group of magic users. Damian’s mother was responsible for guarding a powerful ring that belonged to her family and was passed down from one priest or priestess to another every generation. Rose had hoped that Damian would not awaken his powers at all.

This was because some members of the family can only use black magic. Damian’s family history can be traced back to a powerful warlock named Volgos, at least on his mother’s side. Some members can use light magic and some black magic. While some believed this to be a curse other believed it to be a blessing. Volgos trained disciples which usually consisted of family or close friends in combat, magic and stealth so they could protect those who could not protect themselves. Volgos crafted the ring that eventually would be passed down in the family. This took a toll on his body though and he would never be the same again.

When his powers did finally emerge his mother’s, fears were realized. Damian now had access to black magic and focused his power through a tattoo on his left hand. Rose packed a bag and left but not before being confronted by James. She didn’t want to reveal anything so she lied and accused James of cheating and always being away on “business trips” for long periods of time because he refused to explain what it was that he did for work.

After Rose left things only got worse. James started to blame Damian for everything that went wrong even if Damian wasn’t around. Eventually James asked his brother Jack to take care of him. Jack was an assassin like his brother but had retired to live a simpler life.

Feeling sorry for his nephew Jack trained Damian to become an assassin, hoping it would distract him. Damian thought he was just learning how to defend himself until he read his Uncles journal and uncovered the truth about his father and uncle’s life as assassins. Deciding to keep this discovery to himself Damian looked for an opportunity to use his powers and training in a meaningful way. Discovering the ring his mother had left behind he took his uncle’s old gear and left to learn more about his family and the occult, eventually meeting John Constantine and Zatanna Zatara along the way.

The ring also creates armor from an unknown rock like material providing protection from attacks and falls that would kill most people. The ring also allows him to communicate with the spirits of those who used the ring before him, passing along their knowledge to him.)

Limitations and Weaknesses:

-Shadow Form (Using shadow form turns Damian into a humanoid shadowlike creature allowing him to move in a stealthier manner. When he leaves this form, he will either be unconscious or in so much physical and mental pain that he can’t move)

-Ring of Volgos (Whenever Damian is knocked unconscious his ring will assume control of his body until he regains consciousness. When the ring has control his eyes turn completely black and will attack with much more lethal force)

- Hypnosis (When using this ability, he can’t move and is open to attacks. Breaking contact with the individual he is hypnotizing can send a mental shockwave into his mind if he is interrupted. Damian also fears using this ability because he must force his will onto the individual which can have unforeseen consequences and he doesn’t want to accidently hurt anyone. He refrains from using this ability unless it is absolutely necessary.)

- Light Magic

Personality: Damian is very serious most of the time. He has been described as being distant and cold by a few people, but only because he was not interested in talking at the time or because he is focused on studying or researching mystical artifacts and didn’t want to be distracted.
