Description
In the original Battlestar Galactica TV series, crew members would routinely call up the schematics of a ship that had appeared on long-range sensors. The schematics and stats of the craft would flicker onto the screen with wonderfully enticing graphics and computer sound FX. I just loved it! This image is meant to be evocative of those classic sequences. Whenever a Galactica crew member or a Viper Pilot looked at their long range sensor display, we got to see approaching enemy craft appearing as simply triangles on the backdrop of a large circular grid graphic. In honor of those scenes, I dropped a very subtle circular grid into the background of this image.Related content

Beautiful plans!
Very clean and crisp lines and I've always LOVED Battlestar Galactica.
I've done several illustrations on it. By the way, there was talk for awhile about bringing a new Galactica movie-but it never happened.
I hope it comes true one day. I'm sure it would knock everybody socks off if they did-especially with today's c.g.i. technology!

Why does it say Weapons Turbolaser?
Isn´t the Viper armed with 30mm railguns?

The Mark 2 Viper and the Mark 7 Viper from the "Re-imagined" Battlestar Galactica TV series (2004-2009) are armed with kinetic energy weapons (railguns). So you are absolutely correct in that. But the Vipers from the original Battlestar Galactica TV series (1978-1979) were armed with twin turbolasers. While they were never officially assigned a number, you might think of these original Vipers as the "Mark 1 Vipers." In any event, this image depicts the original Vipers, so the turbolaser call-out is correct. Thanks for the good question.
