Description

After the triumphant success of the T-105 Super X-Wing, Incom-FreiTek and Mandal Motors decided to team up again to create the latest iteration of the venerable E-Wing Starfighter.

Concept: Conceived as a lighter, less expensive counterpart to the T-105 X-Wing, the E-35 E-Wing was intended from the beginning to serve as a flexible multi-role hyperdrive-capable starfighter. To increase production efficiency, it shares many common components with the X-Wing, including common laser cannons, torpedo launchers, sub-light engines, hyperdrive, and much of the main fuselage.

Weapons: The E-Wing is armed with weapons systems that were already battle-tested on the T-105:

- Two Taim & Bak KX-22 Wingtip Laser Cannons,

- Twin Krupx MG7-D torpedo launchers,

- One rear-facing BlasTech Ax-220-B twin blaster cannon tail-gun turret.

Dorsal-Mounted Cannon: The E-Wing boasts an additional weapon not found on the X-Wing. Following in the footsteps of the original “E-7” E-Wing, the E-35 is armed with a dorsal-mounted laser cannon. But instead of a fixed, forward-facing cannon, the new E-35 features a twin blaster turret, with a full 360° degree firing arc! Both aft and dorsal turrets can be fired by the gunner, by the on-board astromech droid, or by the pilot (with computer-assisted targeting.) Turrets can fire as lasers or as ion cannons.

Sublight-Engines: Powered by two Incom-FreiTek 5L15 fusial thrust sub-light engines, the E-35 is more than a match for nearly any opponent in the galaxy. But by designing the E-Wing around 2 engines instead of 4, and by foregoing the complex “S-Foil” design common to X-Wings, the E-Wing is comparatively simpler to manufacture, less expensive, and easier to maintain.

Payload: While the performance of the X-Wing is exemplary, the internal mechanism which drives its “S-foils” adds substantially to its weight, and leaves little room for onboard payload. With no need for this mechanism, the E-Wing accommodates a substantial increase in on-board payload. This can include a wide variety of systems, including: Advanced surveillance and reconnaissance equipment, concussion missiles, mines, additional torpedoes, or a variety of other mission-specific weapons pods, making the E-35 remarkably flexible and well-suited to a wide variety of mission profiles including: Recon, Rescue, Escort, Planetary Patrol, Interceptor, Attack, Close Air Support, Interdiction, etc.

Advanced Variants: High-end versions of the E-Wing feature stealth capability and lightweight Z-Type Zillo armor. These variants are reserved exclusively for Republic and Mandalorian use only, and are not available for export.

Crew: While the E-Wing is highly effective flying with just one crewman acting as the pilot, the ship accommodates a crew of two. The officer in the rear seat can take on a variety of mission-specific roles, including: Gunner, Bomber, Radio/Intercept Officer, or Recon Systems Officer. The second seat can also be used for training, for transporting high-value dignitaries, or for rescue ops. The E-35 is also equipped to carry an astromech droid, which is entirely concealed within the hull of the ship.

This remarkable craft also incorporates a number of other advanced capabilities which, at least for the time being, remain highly classified.
