Nice work! Well done! Hey, do you happen to know what the two large objects on the front of the Starhawk are? You depicted them in red on your model? Do you happen to know if those are weapons, or tractor beam projectors, or maybe something else? Just curious.

That's a double anti-ship laser cannon.

Wow! That sounds awesome! Thanks so much for the answer! It's been driving me crazy not knowing. Wow! Those laser canons are HUGE! (Nearly as big as the Onager's super-weapons.) I wonder if they are comparable. It looks like you could flatten anything with those. Where did you learn about that? I didn't see that on Wookieepedia. I'd love to read up on that if there is an available resource to refer to. Thanks again!

It's in that front of the launch bay on the top of the forehead's tractor beam device.

Excellent work, as always.
What's your take on the scaling of this big bad customer?

Thanks so much for the nice comment!
Judging by the size of the deflector shield generator domes (which were taken directly from Imperial Star Destroyers) I'd say that the Starhawk is a little bit longer than the Imperial Star Destroyer. I haven't actually crunched the numbers to come up with a specific number.
With it's abundance of engines, double the shield projectors of an ISD, and higher point value than an ISD (in the Armada game), I think that all of these metrics are meant to reinforce the idea that the Starhawk isn't just "almost a match" for an ISD (like the Mon Cal Cruisers), instead it is meant to be perceived as slightly more than a match for an ISD II. What's your take?

Oh I agree on your last point. Considering a common problem of the New Republic will be "random asshole with ex-Imperial ISD-II is bullying planets" or "Imperial fortress world still has a working defence fleet", having a ship capable of reliably overpowering the Impstar is a must.

Hello:
You made a fantasic work with this ship! . Too bad it was one ship from the Disney canon we wanted to see the ost and the only that never appeared in the movies .
I like how this model is very detailed! And as deadly as it is against ISDs, it would also be quite deadly for low-polygon game mods .
Keep up the amazing work!

Thanks so much! Since we've never seen this ship on the big screen, I thought that it might be nice to create a few photo-realistic images of it. We may not have seen Starhawks at the Battle of Exegol, but since every other ship in the galaxy was there, I'm pretty sure there were a few Starhawks out there. . . somewhere.
I suppose that it's possible that we might see a Starhawk at some point on The Mandalorian series. I'm not holding my breath for it, but it is set in about the right time frame.
Yeah, a ton of work went into this model. Yeah, I can't really worry about polygon counts for this type of project.

Yeah, we can only hope some made it to the battle, helping to turn the tide in favour of the galaxy against Palppatine .
I think it is wise not to hold the breathe, but still that series has seems to be a proof of how to make Star Wars much more correctly than the sequel movies, by making new plots so who knows what twsists will be awaiting. But I agree that to see the actual New Republic would be amazing at some point .
I don't really have the Starhawk planned since my New Republic will have the Nebula, Endurance and MC-90 classes, so more inspired by Legends (but still not near the same, you'll see )... but if I am ever asked to make a version of this ship... oh boy I would be uo for quite a ride!

I'm glad that you like it! What makes it your favorite ship?
Personally, I'm just glad to see that the Rebels/Republic finally have a heavy-hitter that can go toe-to-toe with an Imperial Star Destroyer.

I agree with you about mirroring the primary turbolaser emplacements on the ventral section. The lack of ventral guns has always been puzzling to me as well. On a design that is so overtly symmetrical, it's kind of amazing that no one thought to mirror those guns onto the lower half of this ship. It's all the more puzzling, when you consider the very first scene in the movie features an ISD I firing down on the diminutive CR90. Firing down on it with what? You'd think that issue would have come up during storyboarding. Oh well, maybe the model was already completed by the time they started storyboarding.

I am not a fan of how the ST just recycled a bunch of ship designs, so I was happy to see some New Republic ships tbh. Plus it was kind of hyped up in all of the books etc.

I know what you mean. I just wish that there was more information and technical stats on this ship. Fans shouldn't be left guessing, estimating, and calculating how long this ship is. Someone official should be able to tell us that. And if the 6 white objects surrounding the front docking bay are the super-weapon tractor beam emitters, then what are the those two enormous white things just below them? Are those more super-weapon tractor beam emitters? It would just be nice if some of the technical points and stats were clarified. I think fans are pretty curious about these sorts of details. I guess fans will start making up their own answers to these questions until a more definitive answer is provided.
Thanks for the interesting comment!
