Description Captain Synn commanded a YZ-775 Medium Transport/Light Freighter known as the "Ravenger" as part of an extended undercover operation.  He commanded it while traveling under the alias "Rig Corax."  Rig was a gunslinger, smuggler, and enforcer who applied his skills in various ways as he drifted from one part of the galaxy to another, wherever his fortunes carried him.  Rig was recognizable by his black broad-brimmed hat and leathery duster.  He was also known for wielding twin blasters and an Echani vibro-blade.  The Ravenger (shown here) was a modified YZ-775, which was more capable than it appeared.  The crew of the Ravenger was a diverse group of characters, most with checkered backgrounds.

have you considered some of the other more exotic CEC ships like the VCX-700 heavy Courier or VCX-820 Escort Freighter?

I haven't really considered that option.  I wasn't even aware of those ships.

Nice use of the Ralph McQuarrie Millennium Falcon making it look beefier

Hello:

Your model looks very good, but where is this ship from?

As I understand it, this ship (or one very similar to it) was originally created by Ralph McQuarrie as an early design for the Millennium Falcon, some time around 1975.  A rough model was made, and it appears in some beautiful concept art by Ralph McQuarrie.  The design for the Falcon evolved into a different direction, of course, but this design sort of hung around in the background.
Later, this design sort of took on a life of its own as part of "Star Wars Legends," also known as the Expanded Universe.
According to Wookieepedia, it first appeared (with this name) in a book called "The Last Command" by Timothy Zahn in 1993.
This design was featured in various Roleplaying Game products by Wizards of the Coast in 2001-2003.
This design was featured in the third article in the "Message to Spacers" series of articles for the Star Wars Roleplaying game on Wizards.com in 2008.
It later appeared in the Dark Horse Comicbook Star Wars (Issue 7) in 2013.
This design was featured in "Dangerous Covenants" a rules supplement book for the "Edge of the Empire" roleplaying game by Fantasy Flight Games in 2014.

It's fascinating how "unused" art and "discarded" designs at Lucasfilm tend to survive and get re-purposed to add further depth and breadth to the Star Wars universe.

Hello:

Bw that you mention it, it does look like the original concept for the Millenium Falcon, but I always pressumed that design evolved into the CR-90 (with elements becoming part of the DP-20 from the Expanded Universe).

But I can totally agree how unused designs can get a new lease in life . It has happened in Star Trek aswell with the USS Discovery been based on a discarded design proposed for the USS Enterprise in the continuation series that never happened.

I guess the lesson here is that Ralph McQuarrie's "leftovers" are better than most people's masterpieces.

Yes and no, the CR90 was always it's own ship from what i understand though it had similar characteristics to the concept MF due to being same manufacturer (and over all creator ) that evolved to what you see in the movies, though with massive detail changes and additions.  To my knowledge there are only 2 photos of the original CR90 design model and they are hard as hell to spot in the sea we call the internet because of how similar they seem to the CR90 we know.  There is also a photo of what seems to be a CR90 variant (?) that was going to be used and discarded for Ep. 7 imgur.com/gallery/3a8Oq , you'll recognize it when you see it, kinda hard to miss LOL.

This ship is extremely similar to the original concept, outside of the length (there is no length of ship between the engines and where the escape pods look to be) and the engines are 'wrong' for the original concept that i can see

Here is some of ralph's original concept art for the millenium falcon www.inafarawaygalaxy.com/2013/… and a review of the MF  buckaroo13.blogspot.com/2013/0…

Personally, i'd say this is more inline to the corellian gunship

Hello:

Ohh, I see... sneaky corellians! X) . There was also the one from Episode3 I think, that was later retconned as the CR70. Also, that link was very cool, thanks!

I've stepped on my fair share of toes, I've also been told off in some rather colorful ways, and there has been many occasions where i've been re-educated due to something i hadn't read before.  I take it all in stride.

OH i've always understood that i don't know everything, and while i do know a lot i try not to be too prideful about it because i love learning.  I always try to learn at least ten new things a day, don't always succeed but still.

that is good ,because prideful people are plentiful and they can be very obnoxious . Keep it up!
