I think I just figured out why i like your gallery so much, why I watch you and no other EEnE artists on this site. It's the sketchiness. It shows the PROCESS, I can see things that you started and just left alone, and how you used basic shapes to make a face and then add in detail. Very nice, and very helpful in trying to get a more "dynamic" look in my drawings.

Thanks a bunch! Glad to know the sketchiness here is a plus and doesn't take away from the gallery. It's easy to feel a bit.. eh.. guilty for not putting up more finished pieces. 
To tell you the truth, sketchy stuff was what I really sank my teeth into as a kid. Like you say, it helps to see how someone else is working out the underlying shapes.. Though personally I could never work from those "how to draw" books with the really thick, really precise line-by-line instructions on how to recreate my favorite characters. The most effective way to learn seemed to be working backward from fully-drawn roughs.

oh I don't like those how to draw books. "Learn How to Draw Just Like Me!" Oiy-vey... I've probably learned more on this website than most art classes I've taken and books I've read (except the Animator's Survival Kit, it's second to the bible for me...)
By the way, I know you storyboarded for EEnE, did you animate too?

the expressions from ed, edd, and eddy were always mindblowingly amazing and unique, expecially the headshapes. i always found it so just incredibly cool how one characters entire build and anatomy could be compromised for just one single emotion. but how do you think up some fo those really outlandish faces? do they just come naturally, or is there some sort of trick to it?
