Description
The eye-liner is strong with this one.Felix has such huge eyes and he's always a bit nervous outside. Always on his guard. Always watching. Always ready to run off. It's a bit funny.
He's also the cat that usually stays outdoors for the longest periods of time. I'm not really sure what he does out in the forest, but I guess he gives the squirrels hell. And then he hides from passing neighbours out walking their dogs. It was a neighbour with a dog that brought on this big eyed stare.

I like the composition of this picture, and I agree with you - his wide eyes and teeny-tiny pupils (in this picture, at least) make him look very over-vigilant.

Thank you!
He's a very vigilant cat, but he always seems to have very tiny pupils out in the sunlight. Here's an example and another one where he's a bit more relaxed.

Hehe, no worries, Felix would be long gone before the dog would even know he was there.
Or, if he sat well out of reach in a window on the second floor, he'd puff up an growl at it. Felix has a very, very low and deep growl. I think it's a bit funny for such a slim longcat. He doesn't look that dangerous, but then he growls and everyone sort of just backs off.

Love your pics but your cats are chubby. Cute but just make sure they're not too fat

Too fat? Lol, are you serious or just a troll? All of them are in perfect health and have normal body weights. My vet can verify that and I'd rather listen to her advice than yours, if you don't mind. I don't understand why you'd even think to say something so rude if you actually like the pictures.

Not at all ma'am. I apologize if I came off as inappropriate and you should definitely listen to your vet and not some guy online. I only meant to say that they look somewhat overweight. Obviously I'm wrong since you're the owner

In fact, you couldn't be more wrong. Two of them are rather slim and I have to keep checking them regularly to make sure they don't loose weight when they get worms, because I don't want them to get too skinny. The other two are perfectly normal in weight. All of them are still growing because they aren't fully grown adults yet.
Something they have in common is very thick fur - if that is what you perceived as overweight. I live in Sweden. We get cold winters. Winter coats are a big deal here, since we only have about 3 months of decent, warm climate every year. At best.
So under all of that fur there are very athletic hunters, runners and tree climbers. Believe me, my cats couldn't be in better shape - and I'm very proud of that. That's why your comment hurt me so much, but I accept your apology.

You're right. Its probably the thick fur. Cats around here don't have that since the weather is always hot

I've always wondered, do cats still shed a big part of their fur twice a year when it's hot all the year around?

Locovate In reply to RavenMontoya [2014-07-12 22:42:23 +0000 UTC]
They shed to get ready for a summer coat or a winter coat.
So, if it's hot all year, they shed to get rid of any heavy layers.
:>

Remember that to a cat a dog is just a meal that the cat can't stomach!

No problem, and don't worry, most cats are alert. In all how many cats do you have? Just asking...

RavenMontoya In reply to MelodicLover [2014-06-11 00:11:09 +0000 UTC]
I have four. My two old cats died within six months of each other four years ago and I decided to get two new cats, but then two more sort of just happened. Fortunately, having four cats isn't much more work than having two.
Cat photos has become my "thing" here on dA. It wasn't the plan from the beginning, but... Oh, well. I've got pictures of my bunch of garden gangsters here ravenmontoya.deviantart.com/ga… if you want to take a look.
Do you have any cats yourself?

And I don't have any cats, but I would like to have one though ^^

Haha, yeah... Obsessed is the word.
I recommend it, of course. It's a lovely little intelligent friend to have around. I'm happy I live on the country side though so I can let them go out as much as they want.

He's not very scared compared to what he looks like when he is scared. His eyes are just really HUGE.
