i just wanted to fave this so many times, the drawings are amazing. #6 got me lolzing like crazy, they look so cute!
and also #7 made me awww, your the first person i've seen do a discription of why they love transformers, and that ratchet was your all time hero and insperation. it makes me think about the question; i would say Jazz would be my insperational. cause of his calm, cool, friendly demoner along with the love of music and human culter. once again amazing job on the meme.

Oh wow, your telling of why your a fan was beautiful. I've never read the comic but from what I can tell you don't mess with Ratchet and he never gives up.
Also I love the Ratchet/Wheeljack/Perceptor team ups. When those 3 are working together on something it's bound to work!

They're actually re-releasing a lot of the old comics, so if you were interested you could probably pick up a few of em at a local comic books store. Just ask if they have any issues of Transformers:Generations. It was originally just going to be a 9-part miniseries, but it's become an Ongoing Series now. Plus, they're habitually cheaper than regualar comics - usually running between .99 to 1.99, not only to mimic older comic prices, but becuase the only new production done on the comics was a new set of covers, all the art inside is the original production work.
Ratchet was a real hardass back in the day; not that he could fight very well, but he rolled with the punches like nobody's business. : )

You have such a touching story that I can relate to quite well. I was actually born a little after TF aired, but recently found a hero in both Ratchet and Prime in the form of the comics. And 'real' is only as real or unreal as you make it ...but enough of my ranting-- good luck to you, in continuing on with your dream!

I...don't quite know how I keep myself together each week. X 3 Lately that figure has changed somewhat and upped to an average of 90-some hours a week. While the money certainly isn't much better, even with the longer hours, the experience I'm gaining is overwhelming. My field-year is just about up and I can enter Paramedic school! : >
"Drawing" has degenerated more into 'sketching and not finishing'. Like, for instance, Little Bird. I STILL have that poor sketch of her floating in my "Open Recent" section of PS. I swear I'll have it done for you...before the end of the year!! : |

I have to agree about Ratchet. I wasn't a kid when the TFs came out, I was military, and Ratchet pretty much exemplified the folks I worked with; no one was trying to be a hero-we all did our jobs--most of us believed in what we were doing, we were scared, some of us got hurt or died--there weren't always happy endings. Ratchet exemplified that for me.
I also agree on the KISS thing--wtf? It's like a line of TFs for pedophiles...

: ) I'm awful glad to see that Ratchet had a real impression on someone else as well. Though of course more notibly in the comics than in the cartoon, his personality rang more like your everyday joe caught up in some horribly wild mess, than that of some hyperdriven hero who can do or say no wrong. It made him feel closer; more feasible. The cartoon nailed him pretty square too though. He was kinda mean-spirited and fairly disillusioned, but believed very strongly in doing his job and doing it well.
Despite being kinda rough around the edges, I think he's a steller role model - he's not perfect, never tries to be; just a guy being himself, doing the best that he can for the people he cares about.
And ya...the Kiss Player thing...yikes. I've seen probably, 3-4 images from it? Girls that look 12, often nude or tied up, with ambiguous goo all over them...how does Transformers fit here again!? I'm glad that, for the most part, this series has been cast down by the TF fanbase as shamefull and misrepresenting.

Oh wow, I think I need to fave this for 2 reasons. 1.) FREAKING AWESOME ART GOING ON THERE. And 2.) wow, TF being a driving force in your life. Ratchet is so awesome~ I can't really think of any cartoon heroes of mine that ever actually helped me become who I am. (I mean, what do Darkwing Duck and Sonic have anything to do with becoming a vet?--yes, I'm a 90's child, sadly, but I'm slowly making my way through G1 via youtube.)
