This is great, I had to look at it for a few moments to make sense of it. I think the nipple ring adds a great little detail.

Freaky! I keep looking at it sideways just to try and make sense of the perspective. But very impressive manip skills, one of your best I'd say

quite disturbing and playfull to the eyes.....two ways to confuse my brain...the all picture looks like the antecedent of a fall. no need to say I like it.

Wicked work! I really like how the figure keeps my eyes moving - trying to make sense I am not sure about the fire as it seems a bit too vivid - but great imagery nonetheless

You're correct: The fire is quite vivid... It is supposed to be a bit of a counterweight to the rest of the image, which is not too much 'alive' (esp. because it's greyscale)... I wasn't shure about it, too, when I added it, but without, the image kinda felt too empty... and of course some more reference to fire was necessary for an image that pictures prometheus.
Anyway: Thanks a lot for your comment, it means quite something to me

Thank you very much. Blood and Gore are not always the best solution for creating atmosphere, I guess .

I'm glad I did a search for Prometheus for a bit of inspiration. This scene rocks! For me the surreality is in determing where the figure's paradox lies. Is it Prometheus at the anvil of Haecaetus, represented as a man suffering his own inescapable traits. Or Prometheus freed from the mountain, the fire of his crime receeding into the pits? Love it Very thought-provoking!

...or freed and now bound by his own legs and arms, i.e. himself... thanks a lot for that comment

Lovely peice, is this two people then?
I can visualise it like that, it seems a little too difficult to peice together using one.
Nice job

I'm very very impressed. One thing I noticed was it's a little obvious that it's the same feet both times; the shadow on the big toe gives it away. Keep it up, thanks for sharing!

and something quiet awesome too! holy shit! I never pressed the fav button so fast! okay, that's a lie, but I really really like it.
hm, except that little oddity on the lower leg. there's some kind of gap, but on the other hand if it weren't, it might would look too symmetric... I don't know...
π: 0 β©: 1
Raventhird In reply to tornfaces [2006-10-12 18:58:33 +0000 UTC]
Excellent analysis... yes, I know that this shadow (that I actually added) is one of the little problems, but I wasn't shure how to solve it... it actually looked a bit too flat and symmetric without.
