Description
Why oh why did I decide to write a scene with a MOTORBIKE?! These things are complete hell to draw!!But anyway, there's a scene in Chapter Three of the comic where Mary Shelley and Frankie escape a place and Ada Lovelace comes in on her Steamcycle to fetch them. YAY FOR STEAMPUNK!!
This is concept art for that scene. I originally wrote in the script that both Mary and Frankie are in a sidecar, but I wanted to draw a picture from side-view and still show all three or them. And it gave me an excuse to draw Mary's dress and cape flowing in the wind XD Long Victorian dresses and long capes are so fun sometimes
Enjoy!
Art, designs and comic (c) me, Candice Richards
Ada Lovelace and Mary Shelley (c) themselves
Frankenstein's Monster (a.k.a "Frankie" to me) originally from Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein", but is a public domain character and (c) everyone

Mary Shelly as a hot biker...LOVE IT XD
Her work is profound...i think more people should really read Frankenstein, and understand what she's trying to convey. Far more than just the monster it/himself

WHEEE! Thanks!!! XD
Mary Shelley and Ada Lovelace make awesome bikers. I like to imagine they'd be friends, especially since they were both connected through the notorious Lord Byron, and because they both had such an impact on popular culture
I also wish more people would read the book, since it conveys that the creature is such an intellegent and misunderstood being! Also, it shows us a bit of what Mary was going through in life at the time. Victor is often thought to have been based on Percy Shelley, and Percy is known to have not been too concerned that almost every time the two had a child, it would die in infancy - hence it is shown in Victor's abandonment of his own 'child'. Victor's situation with creating the Creature is also often compared to childbirth, upon analysis, and it is said in some sources that one of Mary's babies was born premature and slightly disfigured. Lastly, because of the whole scenario of Victor's life being supposedly 'ruined' by the Creature's mere existence, eventually leading to the tragic ending, it is said that it's a metaphor for the guilt Mary felt that her mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, died after giving birth to her. It's such a profound and fantastic novel, with a lesson in it about not judging people according to appearance, and it's even slightly autobiographical!
Well, there was my literary ramble

WOW....
There are so many things I want to get into concerning what you said that it would take an essay to build. I had no clue that the Author experienced that..
I originally sensed the story as an allegory to man's hubris, the use of "prometheus's fire" to merely suit the ego...to play god. Driven by the lust of results, which overshadowed care for life itself (the monster being incomplete), gave him exactly what he deserved: an abomination. (not the creature itself...but it's very arrival and experience of the world from the mind of a misguided scientist)
Definitely, that could also tie into your description of Percy Shelley, yes perhaps he and Victor are two sides of the same coin..
And thus the monster...created with a lack of true love from the creator, can only cause destruction for frankenstein and his family. The man never even gave his creation a name..
I think Mary had created a concept so profound...that to ignore her warning, is like wanting to be hit by a massive train. It's Science without regard to wisdom...Math and no intelligence.
Hey Raven, thanks for sharing your insight...Excellent stuff!

And thanks!!
Lol, his mouth isn't entirely open, and he's more smiling with his teeth, but I suppose the bugs will get in his teeth and moustache

No problem!
And he'll get free food if he gets any XD
Believe you me I have experience with walking home from school and a little fly goes down my shirt, on my glasses, up my nose or in my mouth.
