Description Can you believe I'd never seen Back to the Future III? I guess we disliked the second one so much, we didn't even bother with the third. Big mistake, past me--because there is nothing not to love about the third.
Firstly, Doc Brown is so wonderful, obviously, and his leading man role was just the ticket. The big, brown puppy dog eyes and the long, flowing silvery hair, haha.
I thought I'd make a poster, combining the entire series (and the costumes, Delorean modifications, etc.)--basically my favorite parts. I spent a really long time on the sketch and then threw up a lot of color in the photoshop process.

Btw, we've started a great Doc Brown fan group over at Doc Brown Fans Unite! Great Scott! Check it out! [link]

P.S. I began the sketch while out shopping, and was able to draw Christopher Lloyd's face from memory. Michael J. Fox, another story.

P.P.S. Just forget about the possible everything that is wrong with the Delorean, because I cannot for the life of me draw cars and if it wasn't the TARDIS to the Doctor, I would have probably left it out.

Interesting color choice and the characters have a neat flair to them. The Delorean looks so cute from that angle. Like a little puppy...

Or maybe I'm just weird.

Wow, very cool... I like the soft colors and flowing lines, they usually aren't what you expect in sci-fi-based art but it makes it so unique!

I'm still ambiguous on the third film though... I mean, it was fun (as you say) to see Doc Brown as the leading man (he was even something of a romantic lead in this one!), but I wasn't happy with the ending, since it broke up the dynamic duo of Doc and Marty once and for all. I mean, Doc has his time-travelling family, Marty has to get on with his life without him... For me, it was kind of a bummer...

I have! It's pretty awesome--I've been watching play-throughs. I think the writing and atmosphere is really sensitive to the movies. Christopher Lloyd reprising the role is awesome as well.

OMG. I FREAKING LOVE YOU RIGHT NOW.

I re-watched Part III a couple of times last week to pass the time at work (I work at a video store) and I absolutely love it. I remember disliking III and liked II 5 years ago, but it seems like it's reversed now (however, I still do like the first half of II when they're in the future. Hoverboards FTW!). Christopher Lloyd is an amazing actor, along with Michael J. Fox and I think why I enjoyed Part III so much was that it focused on Doc's development as a character.

Amazing artwork BTW.

RayGunNoey In reply to MilleniumFoxMagician [2011-01-04 23:09:05 +0000 UTC]

OMG the feeling is mutual--part III is amazing and adorable! Doc, to me, is that fantastic, sweet supporting character you get attached to and who you want to find some little ounce of personal happiness. It's how I always felt about Lupin in the HP books.
I just read a little book by Michael J. Fox recently, and he says that he gets more questions about hoverboards than ANYTHING, haha.

And thanks!

Thank you, and thanks for the watch! If it weren't for the outfits, I would have just made this a tribute to part III. I love Doc's 50's hair

Citruspocket In reply to RayGunNoey [2011-01-05 01:37:14 +0000 UTC]

C: No problem! I really like your other art too

Oh my, the wonderful outfits. The one you put in this picture is another of my favorites. I mean, that sweater looks sooo amazing! I just wanted to hug him. Yeah, his hair is so cool in the 1955 version. It is also cool in 85, but it's more dynamic in the 50's XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RayGunNoey In reply to Citruspocket [2011-01-05 02:35:10 +0000 UTC]

Aw, thanks!
Ha, the sweater is def. huggable. Doc in general is just huggable. Agh, his 50s silvery robe is by far my favorite, and I like how curly and healthier his hair is then.

Citruspocket In reply to RayGunNoey [2011-01-05 14:28:03 +0000 UTC]

He is! He is! He's like a crazy awesome teddy bear. C: I always wondered why he was wearing it, then realized my stupidity when I remembered it was night lol.
Ah, yes! I remember seeing one still of him during part 3, and being reminded of my former history teacher, who is actually a year younger than Doc was in the beginning of part 1 XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RayGunNoey In reply to Citruspocket [2011-01-05 21:27:44 +0000 UTC]

I thought it was a teddy boy jacket, but it's a robe. Haha, we think about these things. His character is so compelling, I wish I'd had a teacher like him in high school--I kind of love science teachers and my favorite characters are always somehow like Doc Brown, Doctor Who, or Remus Lupin.

Btw, have you ever watched Christopher Lloyd as Reverend Jim in Taxi? ADORABLE. The episode where he explains his first "funny brownie" is both sad and amazing to watch, as Chris Lloyd always is.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Citruspocket In reply to RayGunNoey [2011-01-05 21:36:25 +0000 UTC]

C: Yes, mostly getting distracted by the clothing that the characters are wearing distract me XD
I think his character is the most compelling character I've ever seen in any movie or book so far. Ahaha, I have a tendency to fall for teachers, and fell for my Biology teacher XDDD
Actually, Doc Brown reminded me of my awesome crazy History teacher. He has the enthusiasm that Doc shows XD
Yeah... It always seems that I also find my favorite characters in teachers and older men, not the buff hero XD

OMG YESSSSS! He is, you can see a passion in all of his works, as if he is the character.
I remember crying/shedding a tear as I watched part 3, and watched him struggling to free himself as Buford had started to dance with Clara.

RayGunNoey In reply to Citruspocket [2011-01-05 21:45:41 +0000 UTC]

Gosh, I would watch Doc Brown make cereal, he is just so interesting. It's funny, too--Chris Lloyd in interviews is really slow going and uses monosyllables, but when he's given a script, he just embodies the character.

I am jealous of your awesome history teacher!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Citruspocket In reply to RayGunNoey [2011-01-05 21:50:22 +0000 UTC]

He's slow going? Sorry, I haven't seen any interviews of him T___T

ahaha, *nervous laughter* He's not exactly like Doc, he has his moments of evilness, which was shown to the boys who acted out in my class. XD

He was very honest, and never used sarcasm with me, which was nice. He did that for me because he knew of the lack of an ability to detect sarcasm, and the fact that I took things people say literally. XD
