Description
This is an Elemental Chart that represents the natural formulas that play out the Elemental Alchemical system. Each Element is corresponded with a symbol that is of an occult connection.There are many Elements that make up the universe. Everything in existence is composed of basic units of Matter. It is the Four Properties of Hot, Cold, Dry, and Wet that creates the four standard Elements of Fire, Earth, Water and Wind. Hot and Dry makes Fire, Dry and Cold makes Earth, Cold and Wet makes Water and Wet and Hot makes Wind. The Primary Elementals can create other natural substances:
Fire + Earth = Lava
Earth + Water = Nature
Water + Wind = Ice
Wind + Fire = Lightning
The Secondary Circle is formed from combining two of the Primary Elements. When a solid becomes hot enough it melts; when liquid is absorbed into soil it becomes muddy, in which grows forth plant life which provides nourishment for other creatures, or spawns deathly toxins; when liquid is exposed to cold air it freezes; and when the air becomes humid it builds up in the atmosphere and causes an electrical reaction. It is from the Secondary Circle where even more Elementals can be naturally forged into Matter:
Lava + Nature = Stone
Nature + Ice = Dark
Ice + Lightning = Space
Lightning + Lava = Light
When magma and mud mix it fossilizes, it is from this mineralized process that also forms crystals, gemstones and metallic ore; when something thick and cluttering blocks radiance in a surrounding it casts a cool shade; when the temperatuer lacked outer masses interacts with electrical energies it conducts celestial occurrences, in which causes gravitational forces and allows things such as sonic waves to vibrate, which also forms cosmic drains and dimensional rifts of temporal effects; and when electric plasma meets with a heating fuel it emits a glow. There is a Divine Element that can be created from combining all Elementals of the Tertiary Circle:
Light + Stone + Dark + Space = Spirit
When the forces of Yang, Matter, Yin and Energy come together in Universal Law, it makes up the ethers that sustains existence; the mana that forms all souls and the source of all psychic illusions. It is the Final Elemental that recreates the the Four Properties and in which repeats the Elemental Alchemical Cycle.

My personal favorite is Lightning! But I also find Nature very intersting because it has so many themes and concepts. As You can probably read in previous comments here, there are those who have featured different elementals as the result of the Earth + Water concept. Not only that, but in things like fantasy animes and RPG video games there are occasional unique inclusions of the Nature property element. I even have an actual philosophical report I wrote about it if you want to see it. It's not very long either... XD

OWO
NATURE
In Elementalism, there are elemental entities the are composed from two other elements. A commonly known one is the combination of Earth and Water in which creates the elemental of Mud. However, there is an interesting special side effect to this element. It is the very process of liquid being absorbed into soil that triggers the growth of plant life. The greatest fruitful trees in the world once started out as a small leaf spouting from the mud; there it began to grow and blossom flowers; the stem continues to increase in length and thickens into wood; the fruit these trees produce provides healthy nourishment to other living creatures. In certain role-playing games and fantasy animes with philosophical themes, there are elementals that are composed of plants or flower peddles (commonly pink cherry blossoms) in which were usually references to the Asian philosophical element of Wood. Bugs and other animals are occasionally propertied in them. These elements often play the roles of providing healing energies or damaging poisons that cause certain disabilities, or even death. This elemental is commonly addressed as Nature.
For example, in the Disney & Square Enix's role-playing video game series Kingdom Hearts, there is a magic system that is based on magic customs of Square's Final Fantasy series. One of the elemental spells is the power of healing called Cure. These spells are represented by energy restoring leafs and other plant-like forms. There was a certian antagonist in a group of other villains possessing similar powers to the main protagonist's main spells. This character possessed an elemental power of pink flowers as an equivalent of the Cure element. This control over cherry blossoms played the bi-polar opposite role of Cure. While the Cure spells restore Life, this version of the element caused damage and was more themed on the concept of Death.
Leaf + Flower + Wood = Plant
Heal + Death + Animal = Life
Mud + Poison = Swamp
Plant + Life + Swamp = Nature
A definition of the word Nature includes decriptions as the law of an non-manufactured occurrence or the existence of a providing, self-recycling, resource. Such as the nature of plants and the nature of the phases of Life.

so Leaf + Flower + Wood + Heal + Death + Animal + Mud + Poison = Nature?
Wow where did you learn this from?

That's the thing. I didn't pre-conceive it from anything. This is 100% Philosophical Perceptional Obvervation from the individual. You won't find this kind of stuff on Wikipedia... >u>
Everything you see in that chart is from direct philosophical inspiration! OuO

YES!!!!!!! finally! Someone agrees with me that there are 13 elementals, not 4!!!!
Although I may disagree with you on what exactly the elementals are represented by, but other than that YAY!!!!!

RCDeschene In reply to Katnyx [2007-11-18 13:17:01 +0000 UTC]
Well, what exactly do you mean by that? Like as in the symbols I used? I specifically used a those symbols for a good reason... ^_~
As you can see in the Legend, the symbols for the Primary Elements of Fire, Earth, Air/Wind, Water, and Aether/Spirit are the actual traditional philosophic glyphs for them. Howerever, it is then noticeable that I used the Seasonal symbols to represent the Secondary Elements to their property correspondences:
Lava = Summer: Lava is hot and volcanic like the melting tropical humidity of Summer.
Nature = Spring: Nature is fluorescent and fruitful from the muddy after-winter-snow-watered soil of Spring.
Lightning = Autumn: Lightning is stormy and dry because of the transiting weathers in the atmosphere of Autumn.
Ice = Winter: Ice is cold and frozen as the snow that blankets everything during the freezing time of Winter.
Then of course there are the Astrological Planetary glyphs that included as the Tertiary Elements, but especially in this case, there is an even deeper connection that can be perceived:
Light = Sol (Sun): Light is shining and brilliant as the warm rays of the Sun; In the philosophy of Diads and Dualism such as the Yin-Yang the Sun is corresponded and symbolized as the source of joyous and holy Light.
Stone = Venus: Gemstones, Crystals and precious Metals are rich and beautiful as the luxurious loveliness of Venus; In the Kabbalic philosophy of the Elemental Family all that is Earth and Matter is attributed as the Daughter for girls are practical and sensational.
Space = Mars: The Cosmos is energetic and forceful as the charging drive of Mars; In the Kabbalic philosophy of the Elemental Family all that is Air and Energy is attributed as the Son for boys are playful and logical.
Dark = Luna (Moon): Darkness is shady and and quiet as the tranquil protection of the Moon; In the philosophy of Diads and Dualism such as the Yin-Yang the Moon is corresponded and symbolized as the passive essence of the resseciveness and deepness of Darkness.
(Not to mention that Sol and Luna both play the other more parental roles of the Kabbalic Elemental Family as Mother and Father respectively as you probably have guessed... ^_~)
So, there you go, assuming that is what you were referring to in the first place... XD

Close.
While we both agree on Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Nature, Ice, Lightning (which I renamed Energy), Stone, Dark (renamed Shadow, or Absence of Light), and Spirit, there are some differences. For instance, I have Dream, [mist] (a purity elemental, similar to your Light, but contains other concepts), and the Sun, while you have Lava, Light and Space.
As you can see, I split Light into two different elementals, Purity - like the thought of light, the presence of light; and the Sun - the actual physical light.
You are entirely correct in adding Space. I chose not to because Space is the absence of everything, and so in my rules, nothing is everything. But I break my own rules there because of Shadow (your Dark) and therefore I must agree, thus making actually 14 elements. But 13 is better.
I will disagree with you on Lava. I don't believe it's its own element, but I can't figure out which element to place it under. The reason why is because we've already got 3 elements based on Earth - earth, stone, and nature - and it feels a bit like overkill. Lava is more like the co-operation between Fire and Stone, not the creation.
I think we came to different conclusions in our methods of discovering. You used physical knowledge in combining basic elements and I -haha- I based it off a color wheel. Dream = grey ,Shadow = Black, Energy = White and so on and so forth.
You may argue Fire and the Sun should be the same, but the Sun is not made of Fire, but Plasma, making it thousands of times stronger than plain old fire and of a different substance (I believe it hyper activates atoms somehow, while fire's just a chemical reaction).
And yeah... guh.. technical stuff.....

Ahh... I understand now... I must say, you are very perceptional, and I really like seeing that. ^_^
And to further elaborate on some of my elemental explanations, as you may have noticed, I have grouped certain other Elementals into an overall concept, for these
Elementals are of multiple result or effect of their Primary components:
Nature: Mud, Plant, Poison, Life, Death
Stone: Crystal, Metal
Space: Cosmos, Sound, Gravity, Time, Void
Spirit: Energy, Mist
I even attribute some other more in-depth components in correspondence to some of these effects, such as I propertied the substances of Ooze/Slime to Mud, Acid
to Poison, Healing to Life, Dimension to Cosmos, Aether to Energy, and Steam to Mist as well as more abstract correspondences as the concept of Twilight as to
Crystal and Psychic/Illusion as to Mist. There are even others that can be found in some of my main Elementals like a Holy essence in Light, Evil in Darkness, Sand in
Earth, Smoke in Air/Wind.
Yes, my Elemental Alchemy does consist of natural chemical occurrences, however it is not just limited to mere analytical concepts alone. In the actual ancient
tradition of Alchemy there are only four primary elements because every thing of physical matter is either a solid, liquid, gas or plasma respectively in which are
represented by and are summed up into the kingdoms of the four overall worldly substances:
Solid = Earth
Liquid = Water
Gas = Air
Plasma = Fire
My, you are giving me a lot to write about, and for that I sincerely thank you. ^_^ It is really helping me further explain my concepts and philosophies. I also greatly
appreciate it that you are sharing your personal views of the matter. If there is anything else that you wish to comment on or ask about, by all means, please do so!

Thanks! I love Elements! >u<
And yes, not many do recognize Lightning's origin of creation. -_-
I actually kind of find it annoying how just seems like no one even acknowleges Lava as an Elemental at all! Usually modern RPGs just commonly have Fire, Earth, Wind, Water, Lightning, Ice, Light & Dark for the most part. (Nature is occasionally used and is usually expressed as pink cherry blossoms or flowers as I've noticed in animes.)
