This was the first painting I did for my graduation portfolio class based on the first draft of Star Wars. It's a fight that happens early on between a sith warrior and Annikin Starkiller. The hand in the extreme foregorund is Annikin's father, Kane, come to save the day. As you can tell, I based the sith warrior a little off of Vader, but kind of put my own spin on the costume design. Annikin looks a little too much like Luke from the movies, so I might go back and change that. I encourage any Star Wars fan to read this script. It can easliy be found online and is an interesting alternative to the orginal movies.Related content

I really like the emotion in the picture. It's like a movie scene, filled with motion and suspense. Great job.
Although I think the Sith's mask should be a little darker. It stands out too much and makes him look less serious and menacing.

Oh and the sabers do look great with that style as well!

I love the McQuarrie look to this and yet it is your own style. Vader is most impressive. I like the gasmask face you gave him with those dooming red eyes! The brushstrokes give power to this piece. Very good work!

This is incredible. It really has that Ralph McQuarrie First-draft style to it, especially the light-sabers. Excellent.
