The surface of the Earthlike moon of Artemis, orbiting the mesojovian Poseidon, orbiting the primary star Apollo in the 83 Leonis AB System, circa 818 of the Common Reckoning (~3890 AD). The colony of Acteon was obliterated in the War of Ruin over eight hundred years ago, and the scattered survivors have eked out a perilous existence on this fully terraformed, yet utterly savage world. With their numbers few, and their technology and industry no match for their spacefaring cousins on Aphrodite, they have found themselves all but hegemonized, their people finding lives off world as mercenaries and heavy labor. They hope to appeal to the great starship Candle in the Dark, but the AI has ignored their plight all this time.
