It's great to hear you'd like to try something new, but don't force yourself to enjoy something if you don't like it after all. If you want to try out black humor with ponies I'd suggest "Friendship is Witchcraft", it should be on YouTube or the official ponies archive, Google "yayponies" and it should be the first result. The series is rather tame but it has plenty of dark jokes in there, it should be a nice one to start.
