Description Made these studies yesterday to not forget about the anatomy, thought i'd share. I always find the paw structure the most facinating part of the feline. How the claws is built to retract is just genius. Not the mention when a cat paw is without fur (like sphynx cat's) they actually look like fingers. [link]

My cat is always my model. X3

real true facts about feline paws:
-they are thickly padded with thick toe fur to protect the claws and skin when they are retracted back, their claws are very dangerous and can be deadly when you are faced with bigger felines like leopards who use their huge claws to climb trees. better think twice before messing with these fluff balls.
-their toes are made from the thousands and thousands of stars we have in our galaxy, because of their squishy bean toes the earth's seasons change because everyone is happy at and loves a feline's squishy beany toe pads.
yes these are all 100% true facts

yeah... the way the retraction/extension of claws work is really interesting... *blinks* webbed toes?  *really*?.. I did *not* know that... which cat is that? or all they all that way?
thanks for sharing

Well its not the kind of webbed toes like ducks. My cat has webbed toes.

Wow, wonderful details! These might come in handy the next time I'm drawing felines.

This reminds me of that one time years ago when I decided to study and draw my sleeping cat for a change. I believe that is also when I discovered that unlike the front paws, feline hind paws only have 4 toes.

Oh my, that's awesome! I love paws, think they're one of the cutest things about cats. Such tiny little pillows. With claws. -.- But still, I love them.

These are wonderful! I've always had a hard time trying to get a shape that looks more than just a stub with claws on it, but this really helps show anatomy a lot better! Maybe now I can draw something that looks like an actual paw.

I really love those studies. Normally i don't look that much at feline paws, i usually don't draw them. But since i have a character in a Lionlike shape...
Thanks to you, i lost my fear about the paws a bit. Your studies are good understandable and how you do them too.
I hope you don't mind me stalking it from time to time, seeking some help, hahaha XD

So thanks!
And that sphynx cat paw is so weird.
