Description
Agizul ("brave" in Tamazight) is the son of Tsige and Tamalut, the mate of Jidji, the forced mate of Sada, and the father of Massinissa, Sekkura, Udad, and Tamemt.

Agizul is the bastard son of Emperor Tsige, born to his royal guard Tamalut. Tsige never acknowledges Agizul as his son, which rankles his mother greatly.

When Tsige dies heirless, Tamalut immediately claims that Agizul should be the next Emperor, since he is Tsige's son. But since he was never acknowledged or legitimized by the dead Emperor, the royal counsel refuses to accept Agizul as the next Emperor, and instead turn to a distant cousin of Tsige's, a lioness named Minza.

Agizul, at his mother's urgings, gathers up an army of loyal followers and takes over the capitol before Minza arrives to be crowned and slaughters most of the royal counsel, replacing them with his own royal counsel. He then proclaims himself Emperor, and declares that any who refuse to acknowledge him as such will be executed. But Minza has followers of her own, and she declares herself Empress on the basis that she is the granddaughter of Emperor Munatas's brother, and thus the last legitimate heir to the throne.

War breaks out, and many lions die over the years as both sides fight for the throne. Eventually Agizul's side wins, but at the cost of most of the Barbary Empire's territory and a severe decrease in subjects due to death, disease, and famine.

His rule, for what it's worth, is rocky at best, and Agizul spends the rest of his life trying in vain to rebuild the Empire into what it once was.
