Personality: Prince Inanis was once a gentle, fun-loving colt with a very inquisitive nature and thirst for knowledge. It's this curiousity that gets him into trouble, resulting in his accident. He's now both lonely and mournful for what he's lost, for he can see and hear his family and friends, but they cannot see or hear him. Not only that, but it seems they've all forgotten about his existence due to his accident, with those closest to him only having the vaguest memories of him. To add onto his despair, he's seen many different futures for Equestria, many of them bad, but some good. Unfortunately, he's not sure what will happen or which future will come to be, and it scares him. However, there is one small light of hope in the darkness of despair; one pony in particular seems to be able to hear him and even see him on occation, but they have a hard time making out what he's trying to tell them. But that doesn't stop Inanis from trying, or hoping that one day he'll be saved from his fate.

Bio: Prince Inanis is the twin brother of Prince Astrum, conceived during Princess Celestia's final visit to Mirror!Sombra and born minutes after him. The problem is, almost no one remembers him due to a magical accident that scattered him all across space and time, trapping his very essence in what he would come to call "the Void."

Growing up, Prince Inanis was unlike his brother in that he often wondered who their father was and where he could have gone. Their mother often stated that he was simply "far away," but that could have meant anything! Thus Prince Ratio scoured the Library of Magic in search of clues. Eventually, he discovered secret letters that Celestia and Mirror!Sombra wrote back and forth to each other in the deepest depths of the library. Armed with these letters, he confronted his mother, who soon fessed up that his father was indeed a King Sombra from another universe. This was why both his magic and especially his brother's magic were unstable.

Inanis was absolutely fascinated by this discovery, and tells his mother that he wants to meet this alternate King Sombra. But Celestia tells Inanis that this is impossible; after all the trouble it caused, she shattered the magical mirror which allowed her to visit that universe in the first place. This doesn't deter Inanis; he manages to get his hooves on a shard of the mirror, and studies the magical properties of it, intending on recreating the mirror so he can one day visit his father in the alternate Equestria, and then perhaps even other alternate Equestrias! Thus, he works on creating a special magic spell that will allow him to travel through alternate dimentions once cast upon a mirror.

Unfortunately, on the day he finally casts his spell on a new mirror, something goes terribly, terribly wrong. His unstable magic super charges the mirror, and instead of creating a mere portal to another world, it creates a black hole. The black hole acts as not only a portal to alternate universes, but to different timelines as well, and Inanis, unable to control his magic and focus on a specific spot to go to, ends up being sucked inside and shattered across time and space. The mirror he casts the spell on soon breaks apart into tiny pieces, leaving what's left of Inanis -his very essence, or "soul"- stuck in a black, endless void outside of time and space.

With the mirror destroyed, Inanis is gone, and suddenly so is everything about him, including everyones' memories. Only his family have any sort of recollection of poor Inanis, but even their memories are fuzzy at best. They can't remember his name or his face, just that one point there was a twin brother to Astrum who disappeared in a magical accident.

Or, at least, they're pretty sure there was, anyways.

EDIT: Changed his name to Inanis, meaning "void" in Latin. Originally when naming him Ratio, I was thinking along the lines of the "golden ratio," which is a patern that is found all throughout nature and the universe and stuff. But I don't think the name fits him quite as well as Inanis. Maybe I'll reuse the name "Ratio" for another pony.

NOTES: So this is Astrum's twin brother, RatioInanis. As you can see, his story is based off of W.D. Gaster's story from Undertale. Basically, he invents a magic spell that will allow him to travel across different universes, but it backfires thanks to the powerful but wonky magic he inherited by being created by two ponies from different universes. Oops.
