Description
Demeter, the kind Greek goddess of vegetation and the fields. As the mother of Persephone, Demeter withholds her nourishing gifts in the months her daughter spends in the Underworld, and allows the world to burst into bloom each year upon her return. I've shown her fondly surveying her fields and orchards as she tenderly cradles some ears of early harvest corn.Related content

The sorceress who turned the into pigs was Circe... who I really have to paint sometime in the future! But I think you may mean Calypso? That's a really cool role!

Wow! What an amazing picture! The coloring here is particularly beautiful - it's so lush and vibrant, which is appropriate for Demeter. Love her dress, too. You do a really good job with conveying it's motion and texture. Lovely work!

Very nice and well detailed painting. Your color palette is almost monochrome, which is really a cool effect.
It's like those B&W picture, with selective colors. Only, it's a green painting, with a few extra touches of colors.
