dA Group Tutorial - Allowing Contributor to vote on submissions

So this is out of the norm for me but w/e I originally made it for someone a few days ago, so I might as well upload it here since there hasn't been anything like this uploaded on dA, well I didn't come across any.

I don't exactly recommend this setting for every group out there, especially if it's a group with strict rules and regulations.

Aaand was used in the following example.

The box has a semi transparent check mark in it and I cannot change it, apparently the contributors can't vote.

HELP

Hmmmm. Are you by any chance the founder of the group or Co-Founder?
If I recall correctly only Founder has the permission to allow contributors to vote on gallery folders.

I've been looking through several tutorials now and I'm trying to understand, when they say "are subject to vote" who exactly is allowed to vote, because I wish to run a system where members submit their images to featured and other members vote if they like it.

"Are subject to vote" means whenever work is submitted into the group,Β co-owners and ownerΒ (default group option allows those two to vote) have to select yes or on those images. I think I understand what you mean, the only way to get members to vote upon member's submitted post is by promoting them to admin status and even then you have to tweak the settings around a little bit. :[ Your system is possible but there will be many set backs, one being a non-premium account are only able to join up to 3 groups.

I understand but what about specifically submitting to featured?

I have a question. How do you allow members to apply as contributors? I know it's slightly unrelated to your tutorial but I went under Manage Members and don't even see Contributor's as a tab to click and give them permissions... I only see Directors, Administrators, Alumni, and Moderators. I hope you can help, I've been trying to have a blogger in my group without having to give them Moderator privileges, the only way I can think of is by making them a Contributor but i haven't been able to figure out how to do that. (They don't know how to apply to become one either so we're both stuckkk.....)

Ahh sorry I was never notified of your comment until now.
But hey, basically you have to send them an invite to become Contributors.
Β

But you say there's no Contributors? That's really weird. The default names for groups are Founders, Co-founders and Contributors, in super groups you can change that and add another rank of moderates however your group isn't a super group either.
Actually wait up, the group is 12 years old. So I presume those were the old names prior to them updating them on dA, I'm not too sure since I haven't been using groups for that long.
In that case, I believe instead of Contributors you have to invite them as Alumni instead since those two are the lowest ranks found in the groups. Hopefully they both should have the same priviledges as each other.

I'll look over the Alumni privileges and see if that's the case. If all else fails I might have to file a report due to glitching and oldness I guess. Thanks so much!
