Description On the 14th of May 2011 I attended the third 'Air and land spectacular' at Emu Gully Adventure camp just east of Toowoomba. I attended this event when it first started back in '09 and I have to say that I really loved it. This year it was bigger and better and although things did not work out exactly as planned, a great time was had by all.

A replica German light tank on display in the staging area before the Reenactment

...please tell me they painted it in accurate Japanese colors afterwards? (This is clearly a replica of a Shinhoto Chi-Ha...not a...well anything German) awesome photo by the way

Well I guess this is what would happen if Japan opened the second front in the Far East instead of attacking Pearl Harbor, and the Germans send their troops to assist them, and they were given Japanese tanks as an "Axis Lend-Lease"

As a very strict history nut, all I see here is heresy.

would you rather nothing that even looks remotely close?

I cannot help it. It's a great replica. I simply know too much and when I see the inaccuracies I reflexively hiss and in a Gollum-esq voice cry out the heresies/inaccuracies.

true, but while I am largely the same i see it as inaccurate is better than nothing

And the way I see it, if you're (the replica makers) gonna half ass it and make it extremely inaccurate, you shouldn't be in the replica business. With some plate metal, sheet metal, welder, and duct tape, anything is possible.

well, unless we are willing to foot the bill and do the hard work yourself, we are in no position to judge

It is a replica based off the running gear of a British APC painted up like a Panzer 38T but they do have one painted up as a type 97

it is supposed to be a replica German light tank and is built off the chassis of a Russian tank chassis IIRC. It looks pretty convincing from the other side
