Description
On the 14th of May 2011 I attended the third 'Air and land spectacular' at Emu Gully Adventure camp just east of Toowoomba. I attended this event when it first started back in '09 and I have to say that I really loved it. This year it was bigger and better and although things did not work out exactly as planned, a great time was had by all.A Centurion tank on display outside the staging area before the Reenactment.

Probably the best immediate post-war tank in the world.

Nice tank, that.
South Africa's current Main Battle Tank is, believe it or not, a heavily modified Centurion called the Olifant. It has all the latest electronic warfare doodans, armor add-ons, etc. But it began life as a WW2 model tank.
Still, tank warfare being somewhat outmoded in this day and age, we never got an entirely new platform. Apparently we were planning to, and then the Cold War went and ended

We used it for a long time before replacing it, and many still exist in museums and private collections
