Some more experimentation with photo-manipulation!
It's a photo I've taken myself,, it's a short pathway under our trainstation 7 min away from where I live ;0 And yes, I have photos that I specifically keep for scenes that should feature big mean doggos

Uuuh usually I need to plan making a step-by-step before I even start said artwork if it's digitally painted, because it requires me to actually save the different stages separately (since I simply paint on top of everything, instead of making a new layer)
I luckily hadn't deleted the last PSD save-file yet, so I at least have some of the beginning stages to show:
The horizontal lines you see in the top, were guidelines to make sure the reflections in the walls aren't totally off, and to get a better grip on how to place the sketch in the proper perspective

i wanted to know how you did the back ground. since its already a photo and you edit it in photoshop i just wanted to know which filters you used. because it blends so well with the creature and doesn't stand out as a photo anymore.

Ahh I see, it'd be difficult to show every single edit I've done in a normal step-by-step,, but it also doesn't help that I basically tried a bunch of different things randomly to simply see which version would look best :I Many of the filters I used, were then set to like 10% opacity to be careful not to distort the general image quality too much.
Amongst those filters were a subtle gaussian blur, some extra grain on the creature to match the grain natural to a photograph. And I'm translating here, so I'm not 100% sure what the official term for the filter in in English, but I also used the "palette knife" filter, and "paper collage" filter,, both again at a very low opacity. The first was soften the details a bit, make things look just a smidge more painterly, and the second was to simplify the color gradients and mimic my style of putting colors against each other in sections rather than smooth transitions.
Then I did like a dozen different minuscule color adjustments, contrast adjustments etc.
The filters should be picked with keeping your own art style in mind,, if I had drawn this with a different art style, I would've picked other filters to match :0

The picture was so perfectly done and I was going to say how creepy it was, how imaginative the creature is with his whip-like tentacles, the frill running down the back of his neck, the bloody (sorry for the pun) details, the reflection on the walls and how the setting was perfect and then-
And then I saw the repeated Minecraft ghast face in the tile both behind and to either side of the thing, and now all I can do is laugh. But the piece sans that little detail is amazing, and it was truly creepy up to that point. I still wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley... or hallway, as the case happens to be. Great job on the art, and thanks for both the heebie-jeebies and the laughs. I needed that.

Reminds me a bit of some of the Resident Evil games. You have lots of zombies, and then....you have creatures like this, who often come in the most inconvenient locations, and they even have their own music! Would be even creepier if the hallway appears empty, the lights all go out for a moment, and the second they're back on....this thing is facing you!

Yo! I'm not much of a writer but I did notice that (possibly?) one of my watchers did give you some feedback (unless of course you've spread this request to other artists' work as well) But one advice would be that you might get a larger amount of feedback coming your way if you go to fellow writers to request critique :>
I've never written any stories myself, so my watchers won't expect me to suddenly submit texts. Thus the probability of one of them being an avid dA-reader would be lower comparitavely to someone who regularly posts stories.
