Someday I'll get better at doing clean straight lines, and then I'll be the master of drawing man-made structures
and no I will not rely on any digital line-making tool......not because I'm an "elitist" or whtevr... but because my ancient version of photoshop doesn't have such a tool in the first place..........

Shouldn't you be able to leftclick one spot and leftShiftclick on another spot to create a line? I have a pretty old version of photoshop and that's what I do. Or shiftclick and drag a line across the bottom and use the selection tool to change it's orientation so that it can be a couple of degrees off/crooked and whatnot? Love the photo by the way, it's fabulous!

and for your probleme :
if you select the brush tool, click, press and hold on the shift key ( the key under the key to do the majuscule ) and click again, you do a straight line. idk if is this that you're looking for ?
this technique works even on SAI, so i guess it works on your PS version !

I got really nervous for a second because it wouldn't be too surprising if I never noticed a certain tool simply because I never tried using it, but upon checking through yeah no, got none of them pens.

In all seriousness, pen tool is life. Once you figure it out... It took me a couple million attempts but now I couldn't live without it, helps so much with longer lines ya need smooth and steady pfft

That is very true! I've seen people make masterpieces with stupid things like MSpaint, even Microsoft excel?? You may have seen that one, ridiculously good vector right there XD
