Description
I kept misreading my own title as "water deity" so much that I initially typed in "wather" into the title-bar, goddamnProcess video from start to finish: youtu.be/dqMT2_LWaZE
this boi could get into selling his own shampoo brand
so silky
-....are there any real reptiles with hair? What does reptile hair feel like
The only thing I could find is this: i.pinimg.com/originals/f6/ba/a⦠and that's probably moss/algae
and typing in furry reptiles only showed me lizard-people with mammaries (don't question the logic there) and yes I'm disappointed in myself, I should've known better

I feel like reptiles would more likely have a feathery down than hair or furΒ

The closest thing you would get in real life for "furry" reptiles would be feathers, rather than fur or hair.
The Elder Scrolls series does just that with their Argonian race.Β
I'm sure it's derived from the fact that chickens and birds are descendants of the early dinosaurs.
On another note: What a beautiful drawing! *o*Β I almost mistook it for a Kirin (from the thumbnail view). lolΒ Β

there is some kind of frog (I know not a reptile) that has hair-like growths on it. it lives in high altitudes and its believed that the extra skin helps it draw in oxygen. on the other hand whenever i draw dragons with hair i imagine it being more like feathers.Β

I love how the dragon's body blends almost seamlessly into the clouds. Does it change color depending on the weather it's bringing?

YES, but the degree of Coolne$$ of your creation is over the top.
Β I think your choice of a Water being palette also contributed to your typing problem.
[I think the color choices are the best ones, adding other colors could have muddied a really nice presentation!]
Point of clarification: Dragon or Kirin, or something else?

The scale and hair detail are amazing dear lord
And I guess the closest thing to 'reptilian hair' would be very fine feathers some birds have? Like emu feathers for example!
Currently no modern reptiles posses any type of fur/hair/feathers so a bird would be the closest there is xD

TBH if I made a lizard furry I wouldn't give it boobs. Not sure what's up with all the furries that gives their reptilian/avian characters mammary glands. Like....? They're not mammals...??
Anyways, this is fantastic! Beautiful work as always <3
