Description

Presenting the Midway Verse IKS Klothos and IKS Kronos One! In The Midway Timeline the D7 “Warbird” class Battlecruiser was the Flagship class of the Klingon Empire during the mid-23rd century. Introduced in late 2253, the D7 was designed around the technology gained from the captured Narada. Capable of engaging multiple cruisers at once, the D7 was meant to be the weapon the Empire would use crush the Federation. These plans were set back when a young captain in command of a small fleet engaged the USS Nimitz taskforce. Despite his fleet outnumbering the taskforce, the Captain would be defeated, allowing three D6 battlecruisers to be captured and barely escaping with his D7. The loss was officially blamed on the ineptness of the captain, but the Empire’s faith in the D7’s superiority had been shook. It was decided that the Empire would wait until a sufficient number of Warbirds were built before engaging the Federation.

Five years later in 2258 these plans would be postponed indefinitely when the dreadnought Narada escaped its containment facility. Forty D7s were destroyed before the Narada targeted Qo’noS’ moon Praxis. When the sensor came back online Paxis had been cracked apart and the Narada was gone. One surviving D7, the IKS Klothos, pursued the dreadnought to Vulcan, where it fought alongside a Federation fleet to attempt to bring the Dreadnought down. A year later the Klothos, having taken up the mantle Kronos One (the title given to the Klingon flagship), would be escorted by her former battle mate U.S.S. Enterprise to a diplomatic meeting at Starbase 1 to discuss a peace treaty for Federation ecological assistance with the aftermath of the Praxis explosion.
