Description
This one took about three days of intermitent coloring and several hours for the lines. Its my half of the art trade The-Great-MM offered me. He did Gayan Ahijit and I did his version of Godzilla. Here's the Description:"A by product from the dead atomic age, Godzilla is the epitome of everything that had gone wrong with the energy and substances that were created in the early years of the age. His body shape and stance is much like that of the Heisei Godzilla, but with some differences in skin texture and other notes.
The arms of my Godzilla are a bit longer and more human-like, but still end in a hand with four fingers. The legs also aren't as fat, but they're not small either. Godzilla should remain looking bulky and strong like the Heisei version did.
His body is covered in black scales, just like the 1989 Godzilla, but with radiation burns covering various areas. He has smooth patches of skin (the burns) on most of his front side and patches of burns on his arms and legs. Think of the scars much like the pattern, shape, and amount of the burning areas on Burning Godzilla, but with some of the face and throat.
His face and head is much like the 1989 Godzilla. He has two rows of teeth and large fangs for biting. His left eye though, unlike his movie counterpart, is white. The eye itself is blind, with a 'cross' shaped burn mark going through it (the eye is in the center). The biggest difference with this Godzilla's head is above each eye rests a Ceratosaurus-like spike. The spikes above the eyes are the same color as his dorsal spines. His spines are virtually identical to the 1989 Godzilla. Three rows of larger spines that light up when firing his attacks. His tail, once more, is like the 1989 version." -The-Great-MM
I'm pretty sure I got everything in there. I really took my time with him and even bothered to draw the background this time. I tried to replace the mass of his legs with very large muscles instead of bulging skin, not sure if its alright or not. There is a lot of detail in there so some things, like his damaged eye, may be hard to see. I hope I meshed the instructions together well enough. Anyway, this should tide you guys over until I get SD Godzilla 2000 drawn up.

I really like the silvery patches suggesting radiation burns!

Yeah, this particular Godzilla is a bit more graphic than the others I've drawn.

Huh! This here is a VERY interesting take of Godzilla. Probably well-overdue in the respect that his was done back in good ol' 2010.

Certainly a more rugged and battle worn Goji.

In the future, could you do an art trade with my Godzilla rendition?

Maybe, you'd have to be fast enough to snag a slot when I open them back up again. Either that or I could develope a wait list lol.

Thanks!
Bye the way, you should check out the Mechagodzilla rendition of mine that I'm working on.
If you ever do a sketch study of Mechagodzilla, I recommend that you include it.

He looks aweseme. Given the crest on his head he probably mutated from a dinosaur being evolved from the actual Gojirasaurus, who as part of Coelophysoidea might have been a Ceratosauria member, depending on which of the pssible evolution trees is rights.
The Burn marks and blind eye also speak against this Godzilla having the regenerative abilities of other Versions.

Interesting thoughts, never considered the evolution angle when creating him. I think I remember MM saying this one has a regen factor but not as overpoweringly strong as a lot of the others. Its been so long though that I'm not sure on that one.

Didn't think about it before I read the description.
Ah, so he has the powers, but they are not as strong. Makes sense in context of that pic.

Well, this is pretty spectacular. The face is particularly striking. The sheer amount of detail just works wonders.
I think there's a bit of a problem with the legs, though. Not entirely sure what it is, but they don't seem to be quiiiiiiiiiiite holding it off the ground. I think they lack a sense of depth between the ankles and knees.

Thanks Gregole, glad to hear the time I spent was worth it.
I was trying for a balance of thickly muscular and slimmed down just a smidge. I can see how tapering the leg muscles that thin toward the feet would leave that impression. I'll keep his ankle density in mind with further versions of classic Goji forms. I could really use an anatomy pic of his muscles or something.

Holy shit on a pogo stick. I was expecting good... But damn! You pretty much did 'em perfectly. Loving the background! So... yeah, that's like one of the most badass pics I've seen done for one of my kaiju/revamps.
The burn scars are also done good. Won't lie, I was a bit worried on how they'd turn out, but they look good. Hell, awesome even!
Don't think I can give enough praise or thanks.... But holy shit! Thanks!

Your very welcome. Stuff like this gives me reasons to stretch my abilities and practice drawing things that are not in my comfort zone. Its also practice for potential comissioners and work.
He was a fun project to do and he's quite an interesting take on Godzilla if I do say so myself.

I thought the original idea for Gojira's wrinkled skin/scales was that it was the tortured result of the atomic blast that woke it up. Nonetheless, another quality work - good job

You'd have to ask The-Great-MM about that one. The origins and story of his Godzilla are largely unknown aside from the description he gave me. Thanks for checking it out .
