Well it's Christmas! And I have a little surprise present for all my watchers! I made a poll a couple months back asking what you guys most wanted me to do a tut on and I got some requests from my Tumblr and Youtube account as well, so I thought it was high time that I took up the challenge~ The most asked for thing was general painting process, but to be honest I'm not nearly skilled enough to reiterate how I paint, because my process changes every time. *sob* So instead I made a process for how I do my simple hard cell shaded figures on my adopt sheets and character design profiles!I'm definitely no expert, in fact this is my first tutorial and I really don't know what's going on. But I hope you find it at least a little helpful!

I use this process on all my character/adopt sheets, here are some examples:
Also this tutorial is for PHOTOSHOP, the version I'm using is CS5. I'm not sure how this translates to Corel Painter or SAI, sorry.

not at all! it was super useful, I have to try this method of shading XD Ive always thought that my coloring was too plain, I never understood how people made theirs so cool and shiny *A* and Ive tried to look for tutorials but I couldnt find too many that explained how to do it, so thanks for making a tutorial that helped me understand how to do that c:
