Description

Is it really so surprising to contemplate the idea that God has a sense of humor?  This is especially true that when you consider even in nature, the more sophisticated an animal gets, the more sophisticated its sense of play and of humor becomes.  Given just how much greater God is than man, it's no stretch of the imagination to consider the idea that, far from being a joyless, humorless entity, that God's sense of humor is of truly amazing proportions, not to mention the immense amount of forethought and planning that would go into the best of cosmic jokes.

This one, for example, is the result of gravitational lensing--an extremely massive object bending the light around it.  Stars and galaxies take billions of years to develop and it can take millions or even billions of years for the light to reach us, and they aren't static--they're always on the move.  Which means everything has to be set up to look exactly the right way at exactly the right point of time, angle, and velocity for the light to reach our planet when we have the right technology to see and appreciate it.  Here's a quick little blurb: www.mirror.co.uk/news/technolo…

And then there are the smaller things that are embedded in life and nature to make us laugh...right down to amusing things I've seen like a pile of leaves on the street waiting at an intersection until the left turn arrow turned green and the leaves executed a perfect left turn onto the cross street, staying within the lanes and all.

God knows this life is hard.  He loved us enough to send His son into this world to bring us grace and ultimate redemption, but I also think He loved us enough to know that we need all these little signs and pick-me-ups along the way to remind us of His presence and His joy, including by making us laugh.

Good word! God DEFINITELY has a sense of humor, He made me to where I act goofy around my house when I'm home alone, He planned that.

I'm sure God must have been laughing when He created the duckbilled platypus, knowing scientists would be scratching their heads trying to categorize it.

Well, maybe he has some humor sense. But does he play dice ?

Not only that, but He throws the dice where we can’t see. (Quantum mechanics. Paraphrasing a quote from Stephen Hawking, I think.)
