Description
They're byline was "The World's Strangest Heroes!" The classic Doom Patrol was one of the funnest reads from DC's Silver age offerings. Elasti-girl, Negative Man, and Automaton (later, Robotman), brought together by their wheel-chair bound leader, The Chief. Awesome stories by Arnold Drake, whose tales read more like the stuff being done over at Marvel. The art chores were handled by Bruno Premiani, who, for the most part, has gotten lost among the other Silver age greats of the time. Names like Kirby, Colan, Swan, Ditko, Steranko, Kane, and Romita may be the legends most people will think of when comic book artists of the 1960's are discussed, but Premiani's work takes a back seat to none of them.

Anyways, I drew it in pencil, then painted it in PS. Bg is a page from The Doom Patrol #86, art by Premiani, prose by Drake. And yes, Larry Trainor shouldn't be able to run when he unleashes Negative Man, but I didn't want to draw Larry collapsed on the ground, so I cheated!
