I just wanted to do a Spider-Man piece. Had to give a nod to the classic villain, the Scorpion (who doesn't look anything like Steve Ditko's original design, nowadays. It's a shame). Enjoy!Related content

My friend, despite your youth, I beg you to seek out some classic Stan Lee/Steve Ditko "Amazing Spider-man" stories, and prepare to create memories of not only the Scorpion, but other forgoten favorites, like Mysterio, the Beetle, the Looter, and the Enforcers. And, yeah, I should do more Peanuts.

Sweet! Oh, I just love the classic Scorpion costume! One of my fave comic covers as a kid was the Scorpion smashing a water tower with his tail with the water coming down on Spidey!
And the newer costumes, for the most part, just don't have the same simplistic styling to them. They're all big, chunky boots and lines and straps, etc!
Thanks for reminding us just how excellent Ditko's sense of style was!

Oh yeah, I always dug the fact that the Scorpion was pretty much the perfect character for Spider-man the brawl with (about the same strength, creepy crawler alter ego. . .). Isn't the Scorpion sporting armor, with a laser blaster on his tail now? How I long for the good ol' days. . .

Yeah, I think in the animated universe Scorpion's got something like that laser on his tail. Not sure about the comic version anymore...he may have armor.
I've been enjoying letting my 8 year old son read my classic Spidey comics...he prefers them to the kid-friendly versions they put out nowadays.
