Description
In the photo, I'm firing an MG3, the modern version of the MG42 I believe. For some reason, the Spanish Army uses all German weaponry.Related content

thanks! i ever belibed the CETME/G3 was the second best AR in the world before the AK-47 at least in the 60Β΄ and 70Β΄,then they tryed to do a 5,56 nato vers, but have a lot of fails(usually called "plastic cetme")

G3 being the second best rifle ? WHAT? I'd put it somewhere in the top hundred. But, closer to the end of that list.
I personally own a number of rifles I'd put before a G3. AR15, AK47, FAL, etc.

well thats what i heard, but can be some kind of propaganda, dunno, and i donΒ΄t have any firearm because is very hard to have the permit to own one (and ARs are totally prohibited)

Ouch. Yea, I recall from my European adventures, you can only own a firearm if you're rich or well connected. Here, it's one of our fundamental human rights. There's an old saying, "God did not make men equal, Sam Colt did." I disagree with that line, of course, it's blasphemy. John Moses Browning made all men equal, not any deity or Sam Colt. I believe all human rights are important. But if you don't have the means to protect your own life, what use are all other human rights?

I think that is the biggest difference. I'm a big heavy guy, I mind my business and I stay out of bad areas. I'd probably never need a firearm. Justifying a need for a firearm is framing it in an invalid way. Do you really need freedom to say what you please? Do you need to not carry an internal passport?
I donate heavily to civil rights groups not out of need, but the desire to preserve freedoms whether they are applicable to myself or not.

It's because German weaponry is very good indeed. I also love Israeli and Czech thingies.

Yes, the Germans have a good number of weapon designs. I'm a fan of the G36 series. The MP5 series had a great amount of potential, but I'm not a fan of the 9mm Luger round. Experiments with similiar design in 10mm, .40 and .45 have shown much promise.
Israelis have had some interesting designs. The Galil was an interesting design, but ended up too heavy and too costly. The Uzi had too high of a cyclic rate, and low accuracy. These days they tend to use mostly American weapons.
The Czech's have some interesting concepts. I have a weapon called the Springfield Armory XD, in .40 caliber. It's based off a Czech design. I like it. They also have some interesting triggers on some of their bolt action rifles.

I am a fan of Kalashnikov's designs. I own a semiautomatic knockoff of the AK47 myself. I enjoy plinking with it, especially due to the cheap ammo.
