Description
At some point I may actually design a male character...but not today and besides, from what I gather female speedsters are somewhat under represented in comics anyway.Not much to say about this one, if you've seen my other pieces of this series you'll get from the name pretty much what she's about.
I thought about giving her a more original name than "Flash Beyond", but why break my pattern or try to pretend I'm being even slightly original.
[EDIT 26/3] I've never been 100% happy with this one either, so I've adjusted the helmet so the eyes and mask don't stand out so much against the black. Ironically, this is more or less how it started out back when I first sketched it!

I love all your character designs for the children of the superheroes i really do...but why are they al girls in the JLU category? The only guys i see in the characters list is Red Robin, martian manhunter...and yeah thats about it. i do love the girls, but i was wondering where the variety is?

Well initially it was just a speculative "how could Cassandra Cain be adapted into the DCAU?" then I thought I might as well do Oracle...then why not the Birds of Prey? After that it just snowballed. No real rhyme or reason, just design ideas as and when they came to me. I only really did them to relax between more challenging projects.
As for why so few male characters; I suppose because most of the really interesting ones had already found their way into the old DCAU.

Most girls are reather under rep-ed uless your wonder woman - then chances are your a sidekick. I love the suit but I'm not so keen on the mask...something seems a little off about it....People were talking about unstable powers -that funny cause after I saw this I start to twick the charater of Iris in one of my FF becuase it got me thinking, then I go back Months later and realize that I made her slight (as in VERY) Mental unstable, most probale because of her power...Oh man....

I guess your right. Its cool. I was just trying to suggest one legacy hero you hadnt done yet. But its your call ultimately. That's like people asking me to add such and such a character into my fics. If it doesnt intrest me, I'm not going to do it.

To a point. There's a very good reason why Bruce Timm and co made a point of avoiding that sort of thing. Most of what I've done is adapting comic book characters that haven't appeared in the DCAU and fitting them into the Beyond Era. Villans, on the whole just don't have that kind of Legacy dynamic. Besides, I've already done my take on Two-Face/Riddler beyond, or as close as I'm willing to get to it.

Yeah I see what you mean. I kind of did that with some of my fics for a while. Including characters like Anarky, Damian and Nite-Wing (not Dick some sociopath kid that imitates him)

I don't remember if I saw this one before or not. Interesting design choices though. Different from the traditional red flash of the classic age mercury flash... I like the respirator, I can only imagine it would be hard to take in air at those speeds. the metal bits on the boots too are interesting.

That's the basic idea. As for the metal bits I'm thinking they act as conductors to earth any static build up. My reasoning for this and the mask is that inherited powers can be a little more unstable than imbued ones.

Considering that her powers are a little unstable that actually makes sense. I was wondering why she was wearing a resperator when most Flashes have a force field that protect them from friction. But in any case its certainly differnt than any Flash costume before her and actually looks better than some of the future ones they show in comics.

Very good reasoning... It's always nice to inject a little reason into your designs.. not TOO much of course, but a lil every now and then helps. And yeah, anyone who ahs watched mythbusters or stories about the dustbowl knows what being struck by a lot of dust at high speeds does to static charges

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the mouthpiece either and as for the black, I wanted it do be distinct from any of the other Flash designs without making it look unrecognisable or overly colourful. Black seamed to work well. Perhaps the real problem is that there's too much yellow here.
Of course I only spent about an hour on this one before declaring victory as these things are just meant to be little sketches I do in between colouring practice.
I may go back and revisit the mouthpiece at some point (and I still have a half completed "civvies" version somewhere) but it will have to abide for now.

I know how that goes. You get an idea that sounds good, but then you can't make it work without tweaking it to death.

That, yes and the fact that the silver age Flash is such a classic and simple design that it's tough to come up with something true to it's origin, but without being a cheep knock off.
