Zee sighed and stared at the stack of paperwork on her desk. As the leader of the NGO that helped refugees from her original country, the militaristic socialistic The Colorful Republic, to settle in The City, there was always more work to do. She picked up the top document, a proposal to launch a new job training program for recently resettled refugees.

It was an ambitious plan, but she knew it could really help people build new lives here. She spent the next hour reviewing details, asking questions, and writing some notes for feedback to her team. But the workload never seemed to lessen.

She was just really focused on her work that she hadn't notice that she has been alone in this officer for quite a while now, that she might not notice if someone would suddenly appeared behind her.

And someone did.
