Description And here they are, my lineup of Animated (Aligned) Primes and their respective Titans.  I had to change things up from the IDW line-up because this just made more sense to me.

Up next, expect a more...feminine side to Primus.

As usual, let me know what you think in the comments below and have a most wonderful day!

Thanks.  Some parts of the line-up I had to change because they just made more sense to me this way.  If they were officially incorporated into Animated, though, I imagine they'd have a different look to them than what I cooked up.

I was a bit worried on the design of some Titans, namely Quintessa due to the fact that...well if you replace the orange parts with flesh, she looks like she's wearing a bikini.  I got a bit worried that someone would accuse me of sexism or trying to push something, but I did it anyway.  Thus, far, no one has said anything.

Welcome ^^ I like Metroplex with Optimus 1 (boring) and metrotitan with Megatronus more, I think their characters suit each other better than their IDW counterparts did.
We’ll never know unless Hasbro releases official animated designs like they did with the DJD.

Well to be fair that’s kind of the case with a lot of female transformers designs, namely Arcee and Airachnid from the aligned continuity (more so Arcee) but I can see the concern behind the design choice.

Glad you agree. ^^  They did with the DJD?  I wasn't aware that they had.  The only Animated DJD stuff I've seen has been fanart.

True, and you can definitely see it in most versions of Windblade.  However, while I was (and still am, to a degree) concerned, I figured it's better to stick to my guns and go with it rather than not do something out of fear for what someone _might_ say.

No problem ^^ I saw it on tumblr (I don’t have an account I just like to scroll through it sometimes). It’s basically their IDW designs being drawn in the animated style. It looked pretty good.

I try not to care what other people think about the stuff I draw, constructive criticism is great I’m always looking to improve my art, but all that really matters to me with art is that what I’m drawing makes me happy.

You mean this? www.tumblr.com/search/D.J.D

Right, and I usually just make art because I want to as well.  Right now, I've started work on the gender-bent forms of the gods and Original Primes, beginning with Primus.

No that’s not it. If you search Official Transformers Animated designs for the DJD into google it’s the first image that come up.

Oh my god. That sounds hilarious!! All of them or just some of them?

All of them.  I ran a poll on it and listed the results and my reasons for doing it here: First Poll Results

The link just takes me to a redirect notice. And then a bunch of tumblr pictures tagged with the DJD and Nickel. Is the picture a group shot with Tarn in the centre, Helex and Tesarus featured up top and Vos and Kaon on the bottom? (I’m sorry about this)

Cool. I look forward to seeing that take on the characters.

I had a hard time finding a website with the pic by itself.  Yes, the group shot is the only one I could find that fit the description.

You'll see soon enough.

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2018-12-30 01:57:56 +0000 UTC]

Indeed.

BTW, out of curiosity, if you could pick any of the 13 Primes or the gods for a gender balance, who would you pick?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MysticTopaz04 In reply to RexBlazer1 [2018-12-30 02:22:34 +0000 UTC]

I’m not really sure. I like the Primes as the genders they are and how they tied Solus being the only female of her siblings as an explanation for why female transformers are less common.

Though if I were to choose I’d probably change Liege into a female.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2018-12-30 02:32:26 +0000 UTC]

Well, as Chris McFeely pointed out, the fact that Solus was the ONLY female among the 13 and the "1 in 13" ratio kind of makes women seem like an aberration when compared to so-called "normal" Transformers, on the same level as being a Minicon, a combiner, or a beast.

Just Liege?  I think SoundBluster told me she would be interested in Megatronus as well just to see what that would be like.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MysticTopaz04 In reply to RexBlazer1 [2018-12-30 02:51:54 +0000 UTC]

I saw that video. I don’t mind the ratio of 1 to 13 but I would like to see more stories with female transformers as lead characters, like maybe have Arcee and Windblade team up in a one shot comic or something.

Yeah. To be honest it’s easier to imagine Liege as a female compared to the other primes, because he kind of reminds me of an ancient Regina George of evil.
Lady-Megatronus sounds interesting.

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2018-12-30 02:55:57 +0000 UTC]

Plus, it helps if they're likable protagonists.  IDW, especially in the hands of John Barber, made most of them too aggressive to like.

Funnily enough, in one universe where the Primes visited ancient Earth, their holomatter avatars inspired the legends of the Greek gods, with Liege, in particular, being Aphrodite.

MysticTopaz04 In reply to RexBlazer1 [2018-12-30 03:09:26 +0000 UTC]

So Barber wrote female TF characters as if it’s always.... that time of the month?

I heard about that and I think it’s pretty funny.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2018-12-30 03:12:20 +0000 UTC]

Not quite how I would say it, but yeah, but then again, most characters were angry jerks when he wrote them.

Me too, but then again, it almost makes sense given his tendency for deception.  Forgot to say this, but I'll get to Lady Megatronus later as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MysticTopaz04 In reply to RexBlazer1 [2018-12-30 03:22:02 +0000 UTC]

I’m still never gonna read any of Barber’s books.

I think the primes match the gods their holoforms are pretty well, especially Alchemist as Dionysus. When that image does come to pass I’m going to write in all caps “this girl is on fire!”

I wouldn't blame you.

Um...Dionysus is a dude, or are you referring to a different Prime/god?

MysticTopaz04 In reply to RexBlazer1 [2018-12-30 03:39:37 +0000 UTC]

I hiss at his books whenever I see one.

I heard Alchemist Prime’s holomatter avatar inspired Dionysus, Im sorry I wasn’t more clear on that.

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2018-12-30 03:45:16 +0000 UTC]

Hah, I don't doubt it!  Incidentally, the two characters he promoted the most in his later run, new female characters Pyra Magna and Slide, earned their spot as the two most hated characters in the stories that featured them.  And not without reason.

It's cool, and you're right.  Both Alchemist Prime and Dionysus are dudes.  The ones who played goddesses were:
 - Onyx Prime = Artemis
 - Nexus Prime = Hera
 - Liege Maximo = Aphrodite
 - Epistemus = Demeter
 - Alpha Trion = Athena

Personally, I find it a bit hilarious that Solus Prime, the only actual girl in the group, plays the role of a male god, Hephaestus, while the rest of her siblings are dudes, and half of them play the roles of goddesses.

I’ll be sure to have miniature tomatoes ready if I were ever drunk enough to read a comic with them in it.

Cool. They match up nicely.

Holy shit. That does sound hilarious. I can only imagine what Megatronus’ reaction would have been.

To squeeze and imagine that it's them and their blood that you're squeezing out of them with all of your frustrations?

Indeed.  I may or may not end up having them as part of the gender balance for my choice in the end.

Yeah, it is pretty funny.  Not to mention, Megatronus played the role of Ares, the god of war who, in mythology, had an affair with Aphrodite, who was technically married to Hephaestus.  I'd say some myths the Primes inspired got super-exaggerated.

No. I vent out my frustration my scribbling angrily on paper and punching trees.

That’ll be funny to see.

Sounds like the ancient Greeks were writing fan fiction in the transformers universe long before we humans started sharing our weird stories with the world.

Innocent trees with bark that could rip the skin from your knuckles?  Anyway, I was just trying to figure out what the tomatoes were for.

Heh, that it will.

You could say that.  Mythology itself is messed up, but damn if it isn't entertaining.  Want to hear a weird but funny one from the Norse myths about Thor?  Specifically, one where he has to put on a dress to get his hammer back.

Ones that have fallen over and died, i remove the bark and wear gloves, I sort of live in the country so there are quite a few trees in my yard. Because everybody brings tomatoes to movies why not when your reading a book you don’t like.

The most experience I’ve had with ancient mythology is through Rick Riordans books. I’ve forgotten everything I learned from history at this point.
I’m good but I’ll still never look at Marvel’s Thor the same way again.

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2018-12-30 05:05:39 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I see.  Yeah, that makes sense.  Heh, reminds me of a line from "Batman Returns," "Why does someone always bring eggs and tomatoes to a speech?!"

I'm a bit of a mythology nerd myself.  Hell, I produced an audiobook surrounding Ancient Egyptian mythology and religion.  I've also read Riordan's books, but just the Kane Chronicles, not the others.

Well, the thing is, the story's just too good NOT to share.  And speaking of Marvel, I'm afraid that both the comics and the movies have vastly misrepresented Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.  It's not that only Thor or someone just as worthy can lift it, it's that the thing is so horrifyingly destructive and powerful that only someone of Thor's caliber can even hold it without disintegrating or something.

As such, imagine how Thor feels when one day, he wakes up, looks under his bed and - surprise-surprise - the hammer is gone.  Naturally, he thinks Loki did it, and Loki, under the threat of getting the crap beat out of him borrow's the goddess Freyja's feathered cloak to go and find it.  When he gets to Jotunheim, he finds that Thrym, king of the Frost Giants, is the one who took the hammer, and he says he won't give it back unless he's given Freyja as his bride.  When Loki gets back to
Asgard and explains what's up, the gods are obviously none too happy with Thrym's proposal, so they sit down and try to think of a way to get the hammer back that DOESN'T involve Freyja being forced to canoodle with a Frost Giant.  Heimdall suggests that they pass off Thor as Freyja to get the hammer back, which the gods are surprisingly on board with, though Thor only begrudgingly goes along with it.  So, they pretty Thor up and put a veil over his face, and he goes over to Jotunheim with Loki disguised as "Freyja's" handmaiden.  At the wedding party, Loki has to come up with a bunch of thin excuses for why the so-called "most beautiful of the goddesses" is drinking an ocean's worth of mead, growls whenever Thrym looks at her and is rocking a ginormous beard.  Eventually, Thrym shows "Freyja" the hammer, and Thor drops his disguise and uses the hammer to kill Thrym and all the other partygoers.

Haha!!

Ohh that’s really cool. I read books one and two of the Kana Chronicles when I went to elementary school but I left before I could read the third. I’m currently re-reading all his books. And do yourself a favour and don’t watch the Live action Percy Jackson movies just don’t.

I know that the DC and Marvel’s incarnations of the gods from various mythologies are different from their original counterparts and I’m completely fine with that, I rather enjoy seeing different takes on well known fictional characters and they’re mythos.

...................... Speechless, just fucking speechless.

RexBlazer1 In reply to MysticTopaz04 [2018-12-30 05:46:49 +0000 UTC]

Too true, isn't it?

Thanks, and it's available on Audible, iTunes, and Amazon if you're interested.  I won't deny, Riordan knows how to write a good story that keeps you entertained and engaged.  And don't worry, I've only seen the first Percy Jackson film and that was enough.  You know, I saw the Dom's review of that, and he pointed this, "There's three kinds of changes commonly made when adapting books to films; the kind of changes that have to be made, the kind of changes you can get away with making, and the kind of changes that spit in the face of the book and make it clear you missed the point or didn't care to begin with.  In this particular adaptation, you can't go five minutes without being hit in the face with ALL THREE!!"

I know, and I'm cool with some of the differences as well, I'm just saying that when discussing the actual myths, one needs to leave any comic-based assumptions at the door.

"Speechless" as in "That's awesome!" or "That's fucking awful!" or "I don't know how to feel!"?

Yep.

Cool. I’ll check it out. I saw that too after I finished re-reading the lightning thief just for laughs. And I agree with all of his points, I don’t mind it that they aged up the characters as I know child actors aren’t always that great and are nightmares to work with. But still the movies are those types of book to movie adaptations that have the title in common and almost nothing else.

I always leave them under the door mat.

Mix between awesomely stupid and I don’t know how how feel about it.

I can send you a note with a link if you want.  The age-up wasn't a bother for me either, as good child actors aren't easy to come by, though the kids from the IT movie were really good.  True, though it's not quite to the point of being "In name only".

Good for you.

As I said, mythology is messed up, but damn if it isn't entertaining.

There’s Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, the IT kids, Allegra Acosta and then there are the child actors in those Disney and Nickelodeon live action sitcoms *long suffering sigh*. Let’s just stop talking about the live action movie now, I’m getting a headache just thinking about it.

Very much so.

Subject over with.

Right, and a couple other things to note about Norse mythology are that Odin's not a neglectful father, nor is Loki a misunderstood puppy dog.  Plus, Odin and Loki are blood brothers (oath), not adopted father and son.

Mm-hmm.  And another thing to note about Odin is that he's more of a trickster archetype who always seeks knowledge because he's kind of a nerd.  Hell, the reason he has one eye is that he gave the other up in exchange for knowledge from a literal pool of wisdom.

Hey Rex. I have a request for you to make. Can you make a prime form for me. I have sort of one on my deviantart account. It's just not perfect. It's a combined form of evac(helicopter) and all Pokemon legendaries. Can you make it for me. Evac is the main torso. I don't care how everything else looks just make sure these specific Pokemon are I these positions. Dialga xerneas left arm(dialga shoulder xerneas antlers as a wolverine claw weapon and has a cannon composed of dialgas head) palkia yelvelta right arm(palkia shoulder and yelvelta arm. Tail of palkia forms hand blade). Giratina zygarde zekrom and reshiram form lower legs(reshiram and zekrom split in half and one of each half combines to form the back of the lower legs and giratina forms the mid section and zygarde forms the front. But giratinas wings form the shinguards and he needs three claws in the shape of a w for his feet. And arceus forms the chest. He also needs two massive wings made of the wings from all flying legendaries. For his head take Optimus primes head then add helicopter Evans mouth guard to that. after these three additions just add little bit from each Pokemon head to his. Dialgas palkia and gitatina so head spikes. Make sure giratinas goes beneath dial gas and palkias overlays dialgas
