Description
Bloodborne is ALMOST completely flawless as a game and has been my all time favorite game for the longest time. However the game has one severe flaw in my opinion... a SEA of missed opportunities.Firearms having actual range
Additional weaponry
More freedom for build creativity
Better designed PVP
And more than I can list here.
However one thing I do wish Fromsoft did was make actual BOSS weapons. After beating a boss, you get an item from them that allows you to transform it into a weapon/spell/item of use that's relevant to the boss themselves.
So, I decided to design my own boss weapons for this game, to sort of dream on what could have been possible.
Do you have your own ideas for boss weapons? Sound off in the comments! Or tell me what you think of these ones.
And without further ad-EUGH, let's get talkin' about these weapons.
Cleric Beast: For beating the Cleric Beast, you'd get one of his horns. Which can be transformed into his left FAPPING Bludgeoning hand. This will serve as your offhand weapon rather than a firearm for those players who just don't feel the need to use firearms or lack the skill. This purely exists to show that you don't always need a gun, without needing to wait for the DLC. The Cleric Beast Hand is a basic swiping attack, scaling a D in Strength and Arcane.
Father Gascoigne: My idea for this was that you actually get the hunters axe after this boss rather than in the dream. Because it is the OBJECTIVELY BEST STARTING WEAPON IN BLOODBORNE, why not earn it instead of just picking it? So this weapon has no actual difference to the original axe except for how you get it.
OR
You could instead get his pistol. Now in my version of Bloodborne, Firearms would actually deal damage and have better range than they do in the actual game. This pistol is a double barrel, sawn off shotgun though, so in exchange for pitiful range, it deals the most damage for close ranged firearms (save for cannons). This would allow you to effectively become the DOOMSLAYER, especially with Bone Marrow Ash.
Blood-Starved Beast: The Scrub Slayer would offer you the first new Trick Weapon in my line up of boss weapons. And I have to say I'm too proud of it. Some Madman took the liver of the BSB and attached its small intestine to both that and a flail hilt. The liver and intestine are made of such impossibly strong muscles that being struck with these causes great physical trauma. Somehow this abomination is able to transform from a one handed club into a two handed flail. Of course because it's the BSB, it's going to be oozing poison and deals slow poison build up per hit.
In its first form, it bases damage purely on strength, but in the second form it's all skill based (because if you ever tried using a flail, you need immense discipline to not harm yourself). Its got good reach in its two handed form and has plenty of sweeping attacks. Its L2 attack is to stretch and throw the weight before slamming the liver down. The force causing a large eruption of poison. Causes much higher poison build up and with a great area of effect.
Witches of Hemwick: I could have made a magic stave perhaps, but instead chose to just give players their tools of chaos. The witches brew is an arcane tool that the user holds up and in a few moments creates a small arcane ring to erupt around them. This damage is purely arcane based, but doesn't knock foes back unlike Beast Roar. Instead, it staggers but with the trade off of dealing a full ring of damage. Effective if used right as the cast time is rather slow.
OR
You could have their own hook tools. This is not a weapon but rather a usable item, and can only be used on human enemies. The end result is the hunter pulling it out and grabbing a victim by the head. If you land it, you use this tool to carve out their eyes just like the witches. Only instead of just doing flat damage, you also extract insight from your victim.
I thought this was fitting as the witches covered themselves in eyes to gain insight, and the theme of Bloodborne is that you need more eyes to collect otherworldly knowledge.Β
So basically it's like the Dark Hand of Dark Souls 1.
Vicar Amelia: Again, maybe I could have taken the time to make a more human weapon to fit Amelia, but I couldn't think of one at the time. So instead, we get her golden pendant that now has an ACTUAL USE...
This arcane tool does exactly as it does for Amelia in her boss. You clutch this tool close and assume her kneeling posture. At the cost of one bullet per second, you begin to heal for as long as you hold down the square button. This tool is a complementary healing item to the Choir Bell for a few reasons.
1. Numbing Mist does prevent the use of this tool as it does for Amelia
2. This item only heals the user, not comrades
3. The animation is longer
4. Instead of having to use seven bullets, you consume as many as you're willing to part with. Which is also useful if you need to save your few remaining vials but are at 75% health, this lets you save up on more bullets.
And there you have it. The first five bosses have boss weapons.
THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING THOUGH.
EDIT:Β I've been experimenting with my bloody Printer, and found out that there's not a thing I can do about Vicar Amelia's Pendant use drawing.
You see, in the actual drawing, there's a lot more yellow and light pink going on around the kneeling church doctor to show the aura of healing. But my scanner and phone CANNOT pick it up. I even changed my resolution to a whopping 1200 and it couldn't pick up such light colors. I'm guessing that because there's so little of actual color in those spots, it can't detect it. This presents a problem...

That would have been sooooo rad to use weapons from the bosses themselves! Thanks for your hard work making it into a concept for us to enjoy ^^

It was my absolute pleasure.
And yes, I can't agree more that it's a missed opportunity that we never got in the game.
Hence why I made these, but shuddup Rex, don't embarrass yourself
Look forward to more coming soon!
Next up will be Paarl, the Shadows of Yharnam and Amygdala.

Bloodborne is such a good game, but some tiny things would have made it even better ^^
Nice!
But don't we have an amygadalan arm as weapon already?

Agreed. If only they had more time and money to spend on adding to the game and fixing certain issues. Bloodborne could have been a 10/10 game.
We do. So I will not rely on that as a boss weapon. Amygdala will instead have some more unique rewards in my eyes.

I don't have enough Bloodtinge! I won't do enough damage!
Sadly I need to stay close.
Pros of it: I get a good look at Laurence's butt.

This is why I'm a Bloodtinge Arcane build.
Because I refuse to fight Laurence in CQC. I'm going to range him from now on.Β
Spoilers: ... IT WON'T MAKE THE PAIN GO AWAY...

I am in enough rage to be ready to summon Valtr and (sorry for rude language) read some smut where Laurence's ass gets absolutely destroyed after I won.

Good, GOOOD, let the hate flow through you.
This is one of those instances where I can't even say "Don't let it get it to you" so you get as much hot and bothered as you want.
Afterwards maybe you can take a trip to the painted world so you might actually have a chance of chilling out.

But there is not painted world in Bloodborne...
But I need to pick some items in the painted world in the DkS Remaster....Β
Just kidding, I know it is about the painted worlds usually being a snow and ice level ^^
Laurence still isn't dead btw... I hope today he meets his demise.

I managed to get him down now ^^
I don't know how the rune was called I used, but I used one that would decrease all elemental damage. Strangely I didn't had one for fire only.

Then I got killed by Lady Maria.

Rexlare In reply to MrsLittletall [2019-02-23 19:30:49 +0000 UTC]
Actually, I'd say do as Bloodborne wants you to and be aggressive as fuck. DO NOT back off from her unless you're gonna try and parry. Be aggressive with her since she staggers for the first two hits of your combo, just be ready to dodge when she doesn't flinch and punish.
Obviously, some moves you'll need to avoid for your own safety. And she has two phase 2 attacks that you need to time to dodge. The first is she looks like she's going to thrust her sword at you. Count, 1. 2. 3, DODGE. Same with her other move. Don't even try to get out of range.

Well, we tried a few times cause either me or my summon died right away ^^'
But then, in another try, my summon managed to make some damage before dying and for some strange reason I could do enough damage to the first shark to constantly stagger it, get a visceral attack in and kill it before it could call the second shark and the second shark did only ground pounds, so I managed to beat them almost on my own...

Huh. That's a really cool concept for it, though I still need to play it. Haven't yet due to budgetary reasons. Also, I didn't notice it until I read your little edit, but I can make out the pink but not the yellow. It's still hard to see, but I was able to finally pick up on it.

Ah so these are theoretical boss weapons/items.Β Got it.Β Lets see.
We got one that deals bleeding effect, one that is a shot gun, another that is a way more ouchy version of the starting ax, a combination fail/mace which uses a rotten liver from The Starved beast and inflicts a great deal of sickness to anyone.Β A gross ring that does that fire upwards blast those dicks in the Dark Souls games use.Β Along with a hook that nabs eyes.Β And finally a ring that heals.Β As long as you don't use it when enemies are about.Β Because even praying will not save you from a werewolf jumping and slicing you to bloody chunks.
π: 0 β©: 1
Rexlare In reply to Alomar3882 [2019-02-16 18:28:49 +0000 UTC]
You almost got it. I put all the specifics in the description.
The Cleric Claw doesn't do bleeding, but in Bloodborne, every attack makes a fountain of blood.
It's actually the same axe, I just think it'd be better if you got it after the boss rather than a starting weapon
And both of those aren't rings, they're actually the spells. In Bloodborne, your spells are usable items you put in your item bars. They don't run out, but instead cost bullets to use.
And yes... The werewolf grabs you and is munching on your shoulder while whispering: "THE GODS CAN'T SAVE YOU NOW"
