Description In celebration of my conquering of the Essay, let's submit this little thing I drew.

Since I've been playing Subnautica in between doing college stuff and drawing sketches, I decided to draw something in tribute to that. It's the Reaper Leviathan, looking up at a tasty morsel. Smallest of the Leviathans, it's still dangerous.

It says that evolutionary, the fish evolved to defend the plant, and the plant feeds the fish with sulfur material as food.
... BUT THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!! SULFUR ISN'T NUTRITION, AND WHY WOULD AN ANIMAL KILL ITSELF TO DEFEND ITS HOME?! THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!!

I think the Dev was just trying to BS an excuse to make Kamikaze fish.

On one hand, I'm like "This makes no fucking sense, more so than the animals that have literal gas masks."
But then I'm like "That's cool for a game."

Oh yeah, there are animals with LITERAL gas masks for faces. Like the old fashion Russian Masks

That one makes sense though. Believe it or not.
Their bio says that they've developed a self defense mechanism where they shoot out gaseous compounds to ward off predators. So why wouldn't they have a specialized respiratory system to protect themselves from such a defense?
THAT MAKES SENSE, and gives a reason to make them look like they have gas masks.

Because kamikaze fish has the most sensible bio

Fortunately things get more sensible as you leave the safe shallows.
Stalkers are just underwater crocodiles, literally.
